THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AND THE BOARD OF SUPER- VISORS OF THE COUNTY OF KERN PROCLAIMING MAY l, 1970, AS LAW DAY USA IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AND THE COUNTY OF I~RN. WHEREAS, all ~nericans need just laws and courts to protect ~their lives, their property and their personal safety and freedom and that laws are a Bridge to Justice; and WHEREAS, only a people dedicated to the principles of justice and freedom under law can insure that these vital needs are met; and WHEREAS, the President and the Congress of the United States have proclaimed May 1, a day for rededication to the principles of law in American life. NO~I?, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield and the Board of Supervisors of the County o'f Kern that ? May 1, 1970, be proclaimed as "LAW DAY USA" in the City of Bakers- field and 'the County of Kern, and that citizens, organizations and schools give appropriate recognition to this special day. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meet- ing thereof held on the 20th day of April, 1970, by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: ABSTAINING: Councilmen Bleecker, Heisey, Rees, Rucker Stiern, Vetter, Whittemore 'None None None Council of the City of Bakersfield. ~PROVED this -20th day of April, 1970.
