RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITYOF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF PORTIONS
OF VARIOUS STREETS IN BLOCKS 657, 688 AND
658 IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of March, 1970, the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the
"Street Vacation Act of 1941", being Division 9, Part 3, of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, passed and
adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 853, declaring its intention
to order the vacation of portions of various streets in blocks
657, 688 and 658 situate in the City of Bakersfield, California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was held on the 6th day of April, 1970, after
notices were duly posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter~
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That those portions of various streets in blocks
657,688 and 658 situate in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California, more particularly described as follows, are
unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes:
DESCRIPTION OF PORTION OF 38TH STREET TO BE ABANDONED
All that portion of 38th Street in the City of Bakersfield, as
shown on the map filed April 19, 1904, in Book 1 of Maps at Page
13, Kern County Records, described as follows:
The 82.5-foot right-of-way for 38th Street as shown on said map,
lying between the southerly prolongations of the east line and the
west line of Block 664.as shown on said maps.
DESCRIPTION OF PORTION OF 40TH STREET TO BE ABANDONED
"'All that portion of 40th Street in tbe City of Bakersfield, as
shown on the m~p filed April 19, 1904, in Book 1 of Maps at Page
13, Kern County Records, described as follows:
Parcel 1
The northerly 11.25 feet and the southerly 11.25 feet of the 82.5-
foot right-of-way for 40th Street as shown on said map, lying
between the southerly 'prolongations of the east line and the west
line of Block 688 as shown on said map, excepting and reserving
that 'portion of the northerly 11.25 feet of said right-of-way for
a Public Utilities Easement being a 10-foot strip of land the
center line of which being the southerly prolongation of a line
parallel with and distant 225 feet easterly as measured at right
angles to the west line of saidBlock 688.
Parcel 2
The northerly 11.25 feet and the southerly 11.25 feet of the 82.5-
foot right-of-way for 40th Street as shown on said map, lying between
the southerly prolongations of the east line and the west line of
Block 689 as shown on said map.
DESCRIPTION OF PORTION OF "0" STREET TO BE ABANDONED
All that 'portion of "0" Street in the City of Bakersfield, as shown
on the map filed April 19, 1904, in Book 1 of Maps at page 13, Kern
County Records, described as follows:
The 82.5-foot right-of-way for "0" Street as shown on said map,
lying between the westerly prolongations of the north line and the
south line of Block 695 as shown on said map, excepting and reserving
the southerly 3.75 feet for a street right-of-way.
DESCRIPTION OF PORTION OF "Q" STREET TO BE ABANDONED
All that portion of "Q" Street in the City of Bakersfield, as shown
on the map filed April 19, 1904, in Book 1 of Maps at page 13,
Kern County Records, described as follows:
The 82.5-foot right-of-way for "Q" Street as shown on said map,
lying between the easterly prolongation of the north line and the
south line of Block 695 as shown on said map, excepting and
reserving the southerly 3.75 feet for a street right-of-way.
DESCRIPTION OF PORTIONS OF 42ND STREET AND SAN DIMAS
STREET TO BE ABANDONED
known as e Bakersfield, as shown on the
maps filed A'pril 19, 1904 in Book 1 of Maps at 'page 13, Kern County
Records, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of "Q" Street and
the westerly prolongation of the south line of Block 694 as shown
on said map; thence N 89°43'20"E, 371.08 feet along the last named
line to a point on a nontangent curve, the radial of which bears
S 4°34'39"W from the last named point, said last named point being
the true point of beginning.

concave to the south, with a radius of 1045.00 feet, through
an angle of 20o41'46'' an arc distance of 377.47 feet to a
point in the nontangent curve the radial of which bears

Thence (2) N O°14'28"W, 708.95 feet to a point in the easterly
prolongation of the north line of Block 694 as shown on said
map;
Thence (3) S 89°43'20"W, 82.5 feet along the last named prolongation
to the northeast corner of said Block 694;
Thence (4) S 0°14'28"E, 610.50 feet along the east line of said
Block 694 to the southeast corner of said Block 694;
Thence (5) S 89°43'20"W, 280.05 feet along the south line of said
Block 694 to the true point of beginning.
DESCRIPTION OF PORTIONS OF SAN DIMAS STREET TO BE ABANDONED
All that portion of San Dimas Street (formerly known as "S" Street)
in the City of Bakersfield, as shown on that Record of Survey map
filed May 24, 1928, in Book 2 of maps at page 59, Kern County
Reoords, described as follows:
Parce 1 I
Beginning at the point of intersection of the centerline of "Q"
Street and a line parallel with and distant 45.00 feet southerly
as measured at right angles to the center line of 42nd Street as
shown on said map; thence N 89°43'20"E, 282.63 feet along the last
named parallel line to the point of beginning of a tangent curve;
thence southeasterly along the last named tangent curve, concave
to the south with a radius of 955.00 feet, through an angle of
22°44'16'' an arc length of 374.36 feet to a point on the last named
tangent curve the radial of which bears S 22°27'36'~ from the last
named point, said last named point being the intersection of the
last named tangent curve and the west right-of-way line of the
82.5-foot right-of-way for San Dimas Street as shown on said map,
said last named point being also the true point of beginning;
Thence (1) continuing southeasterly along the last named tangent
curve, concave to the south with a radius of 955.00 feet,
through an angle of 2o40' 14" an arc length of 44.50 feet-to a
point on the last named tangent curve the radial of which
bears S 25°7'50'~ from the last named point;
Thence (2) S 26°52'54'~, 9.00 feet to the point of beginking of a
tangent curve;
Thence (3) southwesterly along the last named tangent curve, concave
to the east with a radius of 230.00 feet, through 'an angle of
27o7'22'' an arc length of 108.88 feet to a point in a line
parallel with and distant 11.25 feet easterly as measured at
right angles to the last named west right-of-way line;
Thence (4) S 0°14'28"E, 413.49 feet along the last named parallel
line to a point in the easterly prolongation of a line parallel
with and distant 11.25 feet southerly as measured at right
angles to the south line of said Block 689;
Thence (5) S 89°43'20'~, 11.25 feet along the last named parallel
" line'to a point'in the southerly prolongation of the last
named west right-of-way line;
Thence (6) N 0°14'28"W, 5~3.78 feet along the last named west
right-of-way line and its southerly prolongation to the true
point of beginning.

Parce 12
Beginning at the point of intersection of t-he centerline of "Q"
Street and a line parallel with and distant 45.00 feet southerly
as measured at right angles to the center line of 42nd Street as
shown on said map; thence N 89°43'20"E, 282.63 feet along the last
named parallel line to the point of beginning of a tangent curve;
thence southeasterly along the last named tangent curve, concave
to the south with a radius of 955.00 feet, througb an angle of
28o12'22'' an arc length of 470.13 feet to a point on the last named
tangent curve the radial of which bears S 27°55'42'~ from the last
named point, said last named point being the intersection of the
last named tangent curve and the east right-of-way line of the
82.5-foot right-of-way for San Dimas Street as shown on said map;
thence S 0°14'28"E, 30.16 feet along the last named right-of-way
line to a point in a nontangent curve the radial of which bears
S 69°16'49"E from the last named point, said last named point being
also the true point of beginning;
Thence (1) continuing al6ng the last named right-of-way line
S 0°14'28"E, 1443.80 feet to a point in the easterly prolongation
of a line parallel with and distant 205.25 feet southerly as
measured at right angles to the north line of Block 658 as
shown on said map;
Thence (2) S 89°43'20"W, 11.25 feet along said last named parallel
line to a point in a line parallel with and distant 11.25 feet
westerly as measured at right angles to the last named west
right-of-way line;
Thence (3) N 0°14'28"W, 1382.99 feet along the last named parallel
line to the point of beginning of a tangent curve;
Thence (4) northeasterly along the last named tangent curve with a
radius of 170.00 feet through an angle of 20o57'39'' an arc
length of 62.19 feet to true point of beginning.
Parcel 3
A strip of land 11.25 feet in width bounded on the west by the east
line and its northerly prolongation of Block 658 as shown on said
map, bounded on the south by tbe easterly prolongation of a line
parallel with and distant 205.25 feet southerly as measured at
right angles to the north line of said Block 658, bounded on tbe
east b~..line parallel with and distant 11.25 feet easterly as
measured at right angles to the east line and its northerly prolon-
gation of said Block 658, and bounded on the north by the easterly
prolongation of a line parallel with and distant 22.5 feet northerly
as measured at right angles to the north line of said Block 658.
Parce 14
A strip of land 11.25 feet in width bounded on the west by the
east line and its northerly prolongation of Block 663 as shown on
said map, bounded on the south by the easterly prolongation of the
south line of said Block 663, bounded on the east b~'~a '~ne
parallel-to and distant 11.25' feet'easterly' as MeaSured at right
angles to the east line and its northerly prolongation of said
Block 663, and bounded on the north by the easterly prolongation
of a line parallel to and distant 11.25 feet northerly as measured
at right angles to the north line of said Block 663.

2. That said portions of various streets in blocks
657, 688 and 658 are hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for
public street purposes subject to and in conformity with the
reservations and exceptions contained in and contemplated by said
Resolution of Intention No. 853. Reference to said Resolution of
Intention is hereby made for further particulars.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by
the Clerk under the seal of tbe City, to be recorded in the office
of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day of April, 1970, by
the following vote:
