HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 20-70RESOLUTION NO. 20-?O RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF CHICO STREET, IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD. WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of March, 1970, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, 'pursuant to the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941", being Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 851, declaring its intention to order the vacation of a portion of Chico Street,~City of Bakersfield, California; and WHEREAS, said Council did' fix a time and place for hearing all 'persons interested in or objecting to said pro'posed vacation, which said hearing was held on the 23rd day of March, 1970, after notices were duly posted as required by law; and WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter, does hereby find and resolve as follows: 1. That that portion of Chico Street situate in the City of Bakersfield, county of Kern, State of California, more particularly described as follows, is unnecessary for present or · prospective 'public 'street purposes: Being that portion of C Street (now Chico Street) contiguous to Block 213 as said street and block are shown upon a Map of Kern filed in the office of the Recorder of Kern County on April 10, 1893 in Book 1, Page 53 of Maps described as follows: Commencing at the 'point of intersection of the westerly prolongation of the north line of California Avenue with the southwesterly 'prolongation of the east line of Robinson Street as said Avenue and street are shown bounding said Block 213; thence northeasterly along last said prolongation 15.00 feet to the point of beginning; Thence (1)_continuing northeasterly along said southwesterly 'prolongation of the easterly line'0f'RobinSon"S~eet't6'its intersection with the northeasterly line of C Street (now Chico Street); Thence (2) southeasterly along said northeasterly line of C Street (now Chico Street) to its intersection with the north line of California Avenue; Thence (3) westerly along the westerly prolongation of said north line of California Avenue to a point thereon distant 15.00 feet easterly from the above point of coff-uencement; Thence (4) northwesterly in a straight line to the point of beginning. 2. That said portion of Chico Street be and the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes subject to and in conformity with said Resolution of Intention No. 851. Reference to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars. 3.
