RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A
REAPPLICATION WITH THE STATE WATER
POLLUTION CONTROL AGENCY FOR A GRANT
UNDER THE FEDERAL WATER POLLUTION CONTROL
ACT, AS AMENDED (33 U. S. C. 466 et seq.)
WHEREAS, the Federal Water Pollution Control Administration
in the Department of the Interior is authorized to make grants for
sewage treatment works construction; and
WHEREAS, the contract for financial assistance will
impose certain obligations upon the applicant, including the
provision by it of the local share of project costs; and
WHEREAS, it is required by the U. S. Department of the
Interior Regulation, ~ssued ~ursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights
Act of 1964, that in connection with the filing of an application
for assistance under the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as
amended, the applicant gives an assurance that it will comply
with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the U. S.
Department of the Interior:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1o That the City Manager is authorized to execute and
file a reapplication on behalf of the City of Bakersfield with the
State Water Pollution Control Agency to aid in the financing of the
expansion of the Bakersfield Sewage Treatment Plant--Southwest.
2. That tbe City Manager is authorized to execute and
file with such application an assurance or any other document
required by the U. S. Department of the Interior under its Regulation
effectuating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
3. That Harold E. Bergen, Ci*ty M~n-~g~r~ i~ a~tHb~i~ed
to furnish such additional information as the State Water Pollution
Control Agency may require in connection with the application or
the project.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
'passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 23rd day of March, 1970, by
the following vote:
