RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF A
PORTION OF "R" STREET IN THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 8th day of December, 1969, the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, 'pursuant to the 'provisions of the
"Street Vacation Act of 1941" being Division 9, Part 3, of the
,
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, Ipassed and
adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 848, declaring its intention
to order the vacation of a portion of "R" Street situate in the
City of Bakersfield, California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and 'place for hearing
all 'persons interested in or objecting to said pro'posed vacation,
which said hearing was held on the 5th day of January, 1970, after
notices were duly 'posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That that portion of "R" Street situate in the City
of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, more particularly
described as follows, is unnecessary for present or 'prospective
'public street purposes:
All that portion of "R" Street in the City of Bakersfield, as per
map filed A'pril 19, 1904, in Book 1 of Maps at page 13, Kern County
Records, described as follows:
BEGINNING at the southwest corner of Block 134 as shown on said
map; THENCE (1), along the westerly 'prolongation of the south line
of said block, N. 89°10'15"W., 58.34 feet, to the southeasterly
right of way line of the existing State highway, road 06-Ker-178;
THENCE, along said southeasterly right of way line, the following
courses: (2), N. 42°18'14"E., 79.03 feet and (3), N. 0°49'28"E.,
154.33 feet to the southwesterly right of way line of the existing

said southwesterly right of way line, the following courses: (4),
from a tangent which bears S. 64o48'06.55'' E., southeasterly along
a curve concave northeasterly, with a radius of 8355 feet, through
an angle of 0°01'50.45'', an arc distance of 4.47 feet and (5),
S.64°49'57"E., 2.10 feet to the east line of said "R" Street;
THENCE (6), along said east line, S. 0°49'28"W., 210.82 feet to
the point of beginning.
Excepting and reserving the existing easement right to maintain,
operate, replace, remove, renew or enlarge the existing underground
water 'pipeline facilities of the California Water Service Company
and facilities within the east 6 feet of the land hereinabove
described, including access over the street herewith abandoned.
2. That said 'portion of "R" Street be and the same is
hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for 'public street 'purposes
subject to and in conformity with the reservations and exceptions
contained in and contemplated by said Resolution of Intention
No. 848. Reference to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made
for further 'particulars.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the 'passage of this
Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by
the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the office
of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
'passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 5th day of January, 1970, by
the following vote:
