RESOLUTION NO. 36-74
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING THE DESIGNATION OF THE
DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT SURVEY AREA
WHEREAS, the C.ity Council on December 26, 1967, by
'Resolution No. 103-67 designated a redevelopment survey area
in Downtown Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on April 3, 1972, by Resolu-
tion No. 17-72 amended the designation of that redevelopment
survey area to increase the area; and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved and adopted on August
14, 1972, by Ordinance No. 2033 'the Redevelopment Plan for
the Downtown Bakersfield Redevelopment. Project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now desires that the redevelop-~
ment survey .area be newly-amended to increase the size of
that area to the area hereinafter described and that such
newly-amended area be studied to determine if an amendment to
the Redevelopment Plan for the Downtown Bakersfield Rede-
velopment Project to expand the boundaries of such Project
'Area is'feasible; and
WHEREAS, .an amended redevelopment project might be
initiated within this newly-amended area should it be foundT
that such amendment to the Redevelopment Plan for the Down-
town. Bakersfield Redevelopmerit Project is feasible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AS
FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council hereby amends the previously-
amended Downtown Redevelopment Survey Area by designating as
the "Downtown Redevelopment Survey Area" that area shown on
the map attached hereto and labelled as Exhibit "A".
2. The City Council hereby finds that the said design-
ated newly-amended area requires study to determine if an
amendment to the Redevelopment Plan for the Downtown Bakers-
field Rede~elopment Project to expand the boundaries of said
Project Area is feasible...~
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on Monday, the 13th day of May, 1974, by the
following vote:
