A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD APPOINTING THE DIRECTOR
OF PUBLIC WORKS AND THE PLANNING DIRECTOR
TO REPRESENT THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ON
KERN COG'S TRANSPORTATION TECHNICAL
ADVISORY COMMITTEE (TAC).

WHEREAS, Kern COG has been designated by the State as
the Transportation Planning Agency for this area and as such.is
charged with the responsibility of adopting an Areawide Transporta-
tion Plan; and
WHEREAS, Kern COG is concerned that the plan it adopts
reflects the desires of its member jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, Kern COG is initiating the formation of a
Technical Advisory Committee composed of those city, county, and
district staff people who are directly concerned with transportation
planning; and
WHEREAS, the function of the committee will be:
a. To coordinate transportation planning within the
area.
b. To gather data, identify problems and opportunities,
and assist in defining goals and objectives.
c. To provide assistance, advice, and recommendations
to the policy committee on the effects of the
transportation element on other plans of Kern
COG and of its member jurisdictions.
d. To provide assistance, advice, and recommendations
to the policy committee to aid it in fulfilling its
responsibilities-for the continuing comprehensive
coordinated transportation planning process within
the area.
e. To assist in the preparation and maintenance of
the comprehensive transportation plan for the area.
f. To provide assistance, advice, and recommendations
to the Kern COG in its review of federal and state
funded transportation projects and programs.
g. To serve as the formal contact between the COG
staff and each jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, it will be of benefit to the City of Bakersfield
to be represented on the committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the'Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
That the Director of Public Works and Director of Planning
are designated to represent the City of Bakersfield on the Kern COG
Transportation Technical Advisory Committee.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 22nd day of April, 1974, by the follow-
ing vote:
