A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO THE STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION FOR
OBTAINING FUNDS FOR THE COMPLETION OF
FREEWAY 58.
WHEREAS, the State of California, through its Department
of Transportation, has constructed Route 58 Freeway between the
east limits of Bakersfield and the City of Tehachapi; and
WHEREAS, the State and the City of Bakersfield have
heretofore entered into a Freeway Agreement dated February 19,
1962, covering the remaining section of Route 58 Freeway in the
City of Bakersfield between Route 99 Freeway and Cottonwood Road;
and
WHEREAS, due to shortage of funds many highway projects
have been indefinitely postponed; and
WHEREAS, the State Highway Commission has appropriated
funds within their 1974-1975 fiscal budget to complete the remain-
ing section of Route 58 Freeway within the Bakersfield area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Bakersfield expresses appreciation to the State Highway
Commission for obtaining the necessary funds for the completion of
Freeway 58 within the City of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 22nd day of April, 1974, by the follow-
ing vote:
