A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF. BAKERSFIELD SUPPORTING SENATE RESOLUTION
NO. 77, PASSED BY THE CALIFORNIA STATE
SENATE ON FEBRUARY 6, 1974.
WHEREAS, Senate Resolution 77 relates to an investigation
undertaken by the Public Utilities Commission of the State of
California into the subject of the interconnection of miscellaneous
customer-provided devices to the facilities of telephone utilities;
and
WHEREAS, the Senate has requested that in order that the
public interest be served, the Public Utilities Commission of the
State of California be provided full assurance that there will be
no adverse effect on telephone rates applicable to the general
public, particularly to low-income individuals and small businesses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
That the City Council agrees with the concern expressed
by the California State Senate in Senate Resolution 77.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk forward a
copy of this Resolution to the Public Utilities Cohm, ission of the
State of California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 15th day of April, 1974, by the following
