A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS AND
DETERMINATIONS WITH RESPECT TO THE ACQUISITION
OF LAND IN THE DOWNTOWN BAKERSFIELD REDEVELOP-
MENT PROJECT AND TO THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
BY THE BAKERSFIELD REDEVELOPMENT, AGENCY OF A
PUBLICLY-OWNED PARKING GARAGE; AND CONSENTING
TO THE EXPENDITURE OF FUND~\THEREF'OR AND TO
THE DESIGNING, CONSTRUCTION~ AND OWN RSHIP OF
THE GARAGE BY THE AGENCY. / E
WHEREAS, the City of Bakers~{eld desires that there be
constructed a publicly-owned parking garage in the Downtown
.,~
Bakersfield Redevelopment Project to service and benefit the
Project; and
WHEREAS, such parking garage will tend to alleviate
parking and traffic flow and control problems in the Project area
by decreasing the need for curb side public parking; and
WHEREAS, such parking garage will additionally aid the
economic and commercial redevelopment of the Project area by
providing sufficient parking for uses developed and to be
developed pursuant to the Redevelopment Plan for the Downtown
Bakersfield Redevelopment Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby finds and determines
that the payment by the Bakers field Redevelopment Agency of the
cost to acquire land in the Downtown Bakersfield Redevelopment
Project and the design and construction by the Agency of a
publicly-owned parking garage thereon are of benefit to the Project
area.
SECTION 2. The City hereby consents to the expenditure
of funds by the Agency necessary te acquire the land in the
Downtown Bakersfield Redevelopment Project and to design and
construct the parking garage; and further consents to the design,
construction, and ownership of the parking garage by the Agency.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a special
meeting thereof held on the !8th day of March, 1974, by the following
vote:
