A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT
OF ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXA-
TION TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD OF CERTAIN
INHABITED AND UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY IN
THE COUNTY OF KERN, CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, DESIGNATED AS "UNION AVENUE
NO. 6."
WHEREAS, requests that the City Council consent to annexa-
tion proceedings have been filed with the City and the City Council
has received a favorable recommendation from the Planning Commission
of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern
County has designated Union Avenue No. 6 as Annexation No. 217 and
Proceeding No. 405 and has by Resolution No. 73-43 adopted on
September 25, 1973, approved the proposal for annexation and the
boundaries of the territory proposed for annexation, which boundaries
are particularly described in Exhibit '~" of such reference, and by
this reference made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. This City Council grants its consent for the commence-
ment of annexation proceedings and the circulation of petitions in
connection with the inhabited territory fully described in Exhibit
'~" referred to above, under the Annexation Act of 1913 (Government
Code Sections 35100-35158).
2. The petition for annexation shall contain a request
that the question submitted to the electors residing in the territory
proposed to be annexed shall be whether the territory shall be
annexed and the property in the territory subjected to taxation
after annexation equally with the property within the City to pay
the bonded indebtedness of the City of Bakersfield outstanding for
the acquisition, construction or completion of municipal improve-
ments.
3. The unincorporated terr!~0ry is designated as '~nion
Avenue No. 6."
4. The general description of the territory concerned in
this annexation proposal is as follows: 142.2 acres contiguous to
the city-limits on three sides. The territory lies generally south
of South Chester, west of South Union, north of Pacheco and east of
Monitor.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 25th day of February, 1974, by the
following vote:

(Annexation No. 217 )
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern,-State"of California, and
being a portion of Sections 17, 18, and 19, Township 30 South, Range 28 East,
M.D.B. q M. and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the south line of the north 30 feet. of said
Section 19 and the west line of the east S7.7S feet of said Section 19, said
intersection beingin the Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield;·
Thence (1} westerly, and along the various courses of the said Corporate
Boundary to a point of intersection of the north line of the south 30
feet of the northwest quarter of said Section 17 with the east line of
the west S7.7S feet of said Section 17;
Irnence C2) departing from said Corporate Boundary, westerly, alcng the last
named north line and the north line of the south 30 feet of the northeast
quarter of said Section 18, llS.S feet, more or less to intersect the
vest line of the east 57.75 feet of said Section 18; ..
Thence (3) southerly, along the last named west line and southerly extension
thereof, 2700 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning, containing
