RESOLUTION NO. Sa.-73
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ROSEDALE NO.1," PRO-
POSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City
of Bakersfield on the 3rd day of October, 1973, requesting that
certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and
incorporated within the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not
less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such territory,
and representing not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed
value of such territory according to the last preceding equalized
assessment roll of the County of K~rn.
NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as
amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
as follows:
That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be
annexed to the City of Bakersfield are described as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of the northwest quarter of Section 26, Township
29 South, Range 27 East, M.D.B.& M., and being more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of the southeast quarter, of the
northwest quarter of said Section 26, said point being in the
Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
Thence (1) departing from said Corporate Boundary, northerly, along
the west line of the east half of said northwest quarter, 995.75
feet more or less, to intersect the south right-of-way line of Burr
Road, of 60 feet in width;
Thence (2) easterly along the last named south right-of-way line
to intersect the east line of the west 20 feet of the east half of
the northwest quarter of said Section 26;

Thence (3) northerly along the last named east line 1622 feet more
or less to intersect the south line of the north 30 feet of said
northwest quarter, said point being in the south right-of-way line
of Rosedale Highway, of 110 feet in width;
Thence (4) easterly along last named south line parallel to and
distant 30 feet south as measured at right angles to the north
line of said northwest quarter, 369.80 feet to a point;
Thence (5) continuing easterly in a direct line and along the south
right-of-way line of Rosedale Highway to intersect the west line of
the east 466.7 feet of the said northwest quarter, said point being
distant 39.34 feet south, as measured along the last named west
line from the north line of said northwest quarter, said last named
point being in the Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
Thence (6) southerly and along the various courses of the said
Corporate Boundary to the point of beginning;
Containing 35.60 acres, more or less.
That a designation appropriately naming such territory
is "Rosedale No.1."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the 3rd day of
December, 1973, at the hour of 8 P. M., in the Council Chambers of
the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is
the time when and the place where any person owning real property
within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any
objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council
of the City of Bakersfield and show cause why such territory should
not be annexed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 15th day of October, 1973, by the
following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN BLEECKER, HEISEY, MEDDERS, ROGERS, STRONG, THOMAS, WHITTEMORE
