RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO THE OPEN SPACE ELEMENT OF THE BAKERSFIELD
METROPOLITAN AREA GENERAL PLAN AND TRANSMITTING
SAME TO THE CITY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, by City Council Resolution No. 4~-78 ,
adopted on June 18, 1973, the City of Bakersfield adopted the
Open Space Element of the Bakersfield Metropolitan Area General
Plan, consisting of text and maps, which Element is on file in the
offices of the City Clerk and the Planning ',Department; and
WHEREAS, an amendment ~ the Open Space Element, consisting
of a change in the text, has been prepared and placed on file in
the office of the Planning Department for inspection by th~ public;
and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Section 65351
of the Government Code, due notice of the time and place of a public
hearing before the Planning Commission was published to wit: on
July 18 , 1973, in the Bakersfield Californian, a newspaper of
general circulation; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held and conducted a
public hearing, in every respect in accordance with said published
Notice, and the requirements of the law, on August 1, 1973, for the
purpose of hearing any person desiring to be heard on the matter
of the approval of the amendment to the Open Space Element of the
Bakersfield Metropolitan Area General Plan; and
WHEREAS, after said public hearing and on August 1, 1973,
the Planning Commission formally approved the said amendment to the
Open Space Ele~t B~ ~ ~ajority vote Of all members of ~e sa~d
Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning
Commission of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the amendment to the Open Space Element of the
Bakersfield Metropolitan Area General Plan, entitled "Amendment
No. 1 to the Open Space Element," and consisting solely of text,
is attached hereto and is hereby approved.
2. That the Secretary of the Planning Commission is
hereby directed to transmit such amendment to the Open Space Element
to the City Council of the City of Bakersfield for further action
in accordance with Article 6, Chapter 3, of Title 7 (commencing
with Section 65350) of the Government Code of the State of
California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Planning Commission of the City of
Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on the 1st day
of August, 1973 by the following vote:
