A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELDADOPTING THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
EMERGENCY PLAN, INCLUDING CERTAIN ATTACHMENTS
AND ANNEXES OF THE KERN COUNTY EMERGENCY PLAN.
WHEREAS, the California Emergency Services Act, Chapter 7
of Division 1 of Title 2 of the Government Code (commencing with
Section 8550) authorizes the development and adoption of an
emergency plan by a city, which will constitute those official and
approved documents which describe the principles and methods to be
applied in carrying out emergency operations or rendering mutual aid
during emergencies, including such elements as continuity of govern-
ment, the emergency services of governmental agencies, mobilization of
resources, mutual aid, and public information; and
WHEREAS, a new Emergency Plan, as defined above, has been
developed by the City of Bakersfield and has been approved by the
state office of Emergency Services encompassing all currently
necessary authority, organization, operational concepts, responsi-
bilities for the functioning of city government during emergencies
and designated attachments and annexes of the Kern County Emergency
Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That attachment "G," (Fallout Shelter Systems),
attachment I (American National Red Cross), Annex II (Welfare
Shelter), and Annex VI (Medical/Health), all constituting parts of
the Kern County Emergency Plan, are hereby included and adopted as
parts of the City of. Bake~sfield.Emergen~y ~lan..
....... ~ That the-City of Bakersfield Emergency Plan, dated May,
1973, including the County attachment and annexes as aforesaid, is
hereby approved and adopted, a copy of which is on file in the
office of the City Clerk.
3. That all and any prior resolutions of adoption of
civil defense operations plans are hereby rescinded.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 27th day of August, 1973, by the following
vote:
