RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF THE
ALLEYS AND A PORTION OF "C" STREET BETWEEN
TRUXTUN AVENUE AND 16TH STREET, CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 9th day of July, 1973, the Council of
the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street
Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its
Resolution of Intention No. 892, declaring its intention to order
the vacation of alleys and a portion of "C" Street between Truxtun
Avenue and 16th Street, City of Bakersfield, California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was held on the 13th day of August, 1973, after
notices were duly posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. The alleys and a portion of "C" Street between Truxtun
Avenue and 16th Street situate in the City of Bakersfield, County
of Kern, State of California, more particularly described as follows~
are unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes:
PARCEL 1:
All that portion of the 20 foot alley in Block
412-A as shown on a map entitled '~ap of the City
of Bakersfield, Kern County, California," recorded
November 25, 1898, in Book 1 of Maps, at pages
13 and 14, Records of said Kern County, bounded
on the east by the west line of Lot 2, said Block
412-A, extended, and bounded on the west by the east
line of the west 107 feet of said Block, together
with the following described parce~J
Beginning at the intersection of the south line of
said Block 412-A with the east line of the west 65
feet of last named Block;
Thence (1) northerly, along last named east line
264 feet, to intersect the south right-of-way line
of Truxtun Avenue, formerly Railroad Avenue;
Thence (2) easterly, along last named south right-
of-way line, 32 feet, to intersect the east line
of the west 97 feet of said block;
Thence (3) southerly, along last named east line
112 feet;
Thence (4) southeasterly, in a direct line, 14.14
feet, more or less, to intersect the north line of
the said 20 foot alley, said point of intersection
being distant, along last named north line, 107
feet east of the west line of said Block 412-A;
Thence (5) southerly, along the east line of the
west 107 feet of said Block, 20 feet;
Thence (6) southwesterly, in a direct line, 14.14
feet, more or less, to intersect the east line of
the west 97 feet of said Block 412-A at a point
distant 112 feet northerly, as measured along
last named east line, from the south line.of said
Block;
Thence (7) southerly, along last named east line
112 feet, to intersect the south line of said
Block 412-A;
Thence (8) westerly, along last named south line
32 feet to the point of beginning.
PARCEL 2:
All that portion of the 20 foot alley in Block
413-A, as shown on the map herein referred to
in Parcel 1 above, said portion being bounded on
the west by the east right-of-way line of '~"
St-reet, and bounded on the east by the east line
of the west 218 feet of said Block 413-A, together
with the following described parcel; the east 9
feet of Lot 18, of said Block, and the west 11
feet of Lot 19 of said Block.
2. That said portion of "C" Street and the alleys between
Truxtun Avenue and 16th Street be and the same are hereby closed up,
vacated and abandoned for public street purposes subject to and in
conformity with said Resolution of Intention No. 892. Reference to
said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by
the Clerk under the seal of the City to be recorded in the office
of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 13th day of August, 1973, by the following
vote:
