Home My WebLink AboutRES NO 64-73RESOLUTION NO. 6~-73 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXA- TION TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD OF CERTAIN INHABITED AND UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY IN THE COUNTY OF KERN, CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, DESIGNATED AS "TERRACE WAY NO. 2." WHEREAS, requests that the City Council consent to annexa- tion proceedings have been filed with the City and the City Council has received a favorable recoLm,~endation from the Planning Commission of the City; and WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County has designated Terrace Way No. 2 as Annexation No. 214 and Proceeding No. 396 and has by Resolution No. 73-35 adopted on July 10, 1973, approved the proposal for annexation and the boundaries of the territory proposed for annexation, which boundaries are particularly described in Exhibit '~" of such reference, and by this reference made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. This City Council grants its consent for the commence- ment of annexation proceedings and the circulation of .petitions in connection with the inhabited territory fully described in Exhibit '~'referred to above, under the Annexation Act of 1913 (Government Code Sections 35100-35158). 2. The petition for annexation sha-ll contain a request that the question submitted to the electors residing in the territory proposed to be annexed shall be whether the territory shall be annexed and the property in the territory subjeCted'to ~a~tion after annexation equally with the property within the City to pay the bonded indebtedness of the City of Bakersfield outstanding for the acquisition, construction or completion of municipal improve- ments. 3. The unincorporated territorylis designated as "Terrace Way No. 2." 4. The general description of the territory concerned in this annexation proposal is as follows: 112.9 acres contiguous to the central boundary of the City of Bakersfield and a portion of an area Completely surrounded by the corporate territory of the City. The territory proposed for annexation--Terrace Way No. 2-- lies south of Brundage Lane, north of Belle Terrace, west of Baldwin Road and east of Olive Street and the southerly portion of Stephens Drive. o0o ~' D~SCRIPTION FOR TERRACE WAY NO. 2 ANNEXATION (ANNEXATION NO. ~L 14 ) · A parcel of land, situate in the'.-County of Kern; ,State of California, and being"':' a portion of the north half of Section 1, Townshi~'~:'30 South, Range 27 East, ','-' M.D.B. ~ M. and being more particularly described !as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the east'::line of the west 300 feet of the northeast' quarter of said Section 1, with the ~north line of the south 30 feet of the north half of said Section 1, said point being the intersection of the north right of way .line of Belle Terrace, of 60 feet in width, and the west right of'way line of Baldwin Road, of 60 feet in width, as said intersection is shown on the ~p of Tract No. 1158, recorded in Book 5 of Maps, at page 5, records of said Kern County; [assuming a bearing of N 89°53'20'~V for the south line of the north half of said Section 1) Thence (1) N 89°53'20"W, along said last named north line 932.02 feet more or less to intersect the east right of way line of Paloma Street, of 60 feet in width, as said street is shown on the Map of Tract No. 1423, recorded in Book 6 of Maps, at Page 101, records of said Kern County, said east right of way line being also the east line of the west 30 feet of-the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of said Section 1;
