HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 47-73RESOLUTION NO. ~47-73 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ADOPTING THE CONSERVATION ELEMENT OF THE BAKERSFIELDMETROPOLITAN AREA GENERAL PLAN. WHEREAS, Section 65302 of the Government Code of the State of California requires the inclusion in the General Plan of a Conservation Element, a plan for the conservation, development, and utilization of natural resources within the City's jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, such Conservation Element, consisting of text and maps, bound together as one document, has been prepared and placed on file in the Office of the City Clerk'and the Planning Department for inspection by the public; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Bakersfield, on June 6, 1973, by its Resolution No. 5-73, approved said ConserVa- tion Element, after notice and hearing as required by law and trans- mitted such Conservation Element to the City Council for further action in accordance with Article 6, Chapter 3 of Title 7 (commencing with Section 65350) of the Government Code of the State of California; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 65351 and 63355 of the Government Code, due notice of the time and place of a public hearing before the City Council was given, to wit, by publishing such notice in the Bakersfield Californian, a news- paper of general circulation, on June 7, 1973; and WHEREAS, the City Council held and conducted a public hearing, in every respect in accordance with the published notice and the law, on June 18, 1973, for the purpose of hearing any person desiring to be heard on the matter of the adoption of the Conserva- tion Element of the Bakersfield Metropolitan Area General Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. That the attached Conservation Element of the Bakersfield Metropolitan Area General Plan, consisting of text and maps, is hereby adopted. 2. That the Clerk of this Council shall endorse in writ- ing on said Conservation Element document to show that it was adopted by the City Council on June 18, 1973. 3. That the Clerk of this Council shall forthwith transmit endorsed copies of the said adopted Conservation Element to the Secretary of the Resources Agency and to the Planning Commission of the County of Kern. o0o I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day of June, 1973, by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Councilmen Strong, Whittemore, Heisey, Medders, Rogers.
