A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD DECLARING THAT THE CITY IS
PROVIDING FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES WITHIN
ITS JURISDICTION AND DIRECTING FILING
THEREOF WITH THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
KERN COUNTY.
WHEREAS, under Section 25643 of the Government Code, every
city which provides its own fire protection services, and which
prior to March 1 of any year files with the Board of Supervisors
a resolution declaring that such city is providing fire protection
services within its jurisdiction, shall not be assessed during the
following fiscal year and any year thereafter for any portion of the
costs of county fire protection services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield does provide its own fire
protection services, and desires to make such declaration by resolu-
tion to the end that such city should not be assessed during the
197-3-1974 fiscal year or any year thereafter for any portion of
County of Kern fire protection services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. That it is hereby found and declared that the City of
Bakersfield is providing fire protection services within its juris-
diction.
2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to forthwith
file a certified copy of this Resolution with the Board of Super-
visors of Kern County, State of California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 29th day of January, 1973, by the follow-
ing vot'e:
