86-72
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF A
PORTION OF "KJI STREET BETWEEN TRUXTUN
AVENUE AND 17TH STREET IN THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 11th day of September, 1972, the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the
"Street Vacation Act of 1941" being Division 9, Part 3, of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, passed and
adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 878, declaring its intention
to order the vacation of a portion of "KJI Street between Truxtun
Avenue and 17th Street in the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was .held on the 2nd day of October, 1972, after
notices were duly posted as required by law, said hearing being
continued until the 4th day of December, 1972; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That that portion of ilK" Street situate in the City
of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, is unnecessary
for present or prospective street purposes in that one-half of the
street will be utilized for ingress and egress to the proposed
parking structure situate on a portion of ilK" Street and that it
is necessary to limit the traffic on ilK" Street between Chester
Avenue and 17th Street as a result of such construction of a parking
facility on a portion of "K" Street. Said parcel is more particu-
larly described as follows:

A parcel of land situate in the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California, being a portion
of Section 30, T29S, R28E, M.D.B.& M. and more par-
ticularly described as follows:
All that portion of the west 41.25 feet of "K" Street
of 82.5 feet in width, between Block 286 and Block 287
and between the north right-of-way line of Truxtun
Avenue, formerly Railroad Avenue and the south right-
of-way line of 17th Street, as said streets and blocks
are shown on the Official Map of the City of Bakersfield,
filed on the 25th day of November, 1898 in the records
of the County Recorder's Office of the County of Kern.
Containing 0.25 acres, more or less.
2. That said portion of "K" Street be and the same is
hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes
in conformity with the Street Vacation Act of 1941 and in particular
Section 8323 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by
the Clerk under the seal of the City to be recorded in the office
of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 4th day of December, 1972, by the
following vote:
