HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 68-72RESOLUTION NO. 68-72 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "KERN RIVER NO. 2," PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD. WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the 10th day of October, 1972, requesting that certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and incorporated within the City of Bakersfield, and WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such territory, and representing not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed value of such territory according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of Kern. NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as follows: A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California, and being a portion of Sections 33 and 34, Township 29 South, Range 27 East, M.D.B.& M., and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at a point in the south line of said Section 33 from which point the southeast corner of said Section 33 bears south 89°43' east, a distance of 1324.50 feet; Thence north 0°17' east, a distance of 38.25 feet to the east line of the Buena Vista Canal; Thence north 29°36'25'' east, along said east line, a distance of 53,616 feet to the north line of County Road No. 2341 (Stockdale Highway) the true point of beginning; Thence (1) north 89o43' west, along last named north line, a distance of 779.27 feet, more or less, to intersect the west line of that certain parcel of land as described in a Deed recorded in Book 4121, at page 280, Official Re~ords of said Kern County, said intersection being a point on the Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield; Thence (2) northerly and along the various courses of said Corporate Boundary to a point on the east line of the west one-half of said Section 34, said point lies 3245.87 feet north of the south one- quarter corner of said Section 34, as measured along said East line, said point also being a point on the east line of Tract No. 3122, recorded in Book 18 of Maps, at Page 185, Records of said Kern County; Thence (3) (assuming a bearing of north 0°45'49'' east for the east line of the northwest one-quarter of said Section 34) departing from said Corporate Boundary, and as per said Tract No. 3122, north 30°32' 36" west, 200.63 feet; Thence (4) south 59°27'24'' west, 746.15 feet; Thence (5) south 71°28'41" west, 147.08 feet; Thence (6) south 86°28'23'' west, 290.61 feet; Thence (7) as per Tract No. 3126 recorded in Book 18 of Maps at page 189, Records of said Kern County; south 65°13'42'' west, 577.23 feet; Thence (8) south 60°16 '41'' west, 223.11 feet; Thence (9) south 52°55'35'' west, 203.76 feet; Thence (10) as per Tract No. 3124, recorded in Book 17 of Maps, at page 63 Records of said Kern County; south 62°42'39'' west, 690.12 feet, to intersect the west line of said Section 34 at a point which lies 2138.97 feet, north 0°03'23'' west of the southwest corner of said Section 34 as measured along said west line; Thence (11) south 0°03'23'' east along the last named west line, a distance of 1479 feet, more or less, to a point in the north line of that certain parcel described in deed recorded in Book 4464, page 180 of Official Records of said County; Thence (12) south 89°50' west along last named north line and exten- sion thereof, a distance of 986.93 feet to a point in the east line of the Buena Vista Canal; Thence (13) south 26°42'00'' west, a distance of 245.06 feet; Thence (14) south 29°36'25'' west, a distance of 405.734 feet to the true point of beginning. Containing 165.83 acres, more or less. That a designation appropriately naming such territory is "Kern River No. 2." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the 20th day of November, 1972, at the hour of 8 P. M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 1501. Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the time when and the place where any person owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Bakersfield and show cause why such territory should not be annexed. o0o I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on the 10th day of October, 1972, by the follow- ing vote: AYES~ COUNCILMEN BLEEC ERe MEDDERS REES RUCKER, THOMAS, WHITTEMORE NOES: COUNCILMEN: ~ ' ' i~ENT COUNCILMEN.
