A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR
THE SEWAGE DUMPING FROM SEWAGE PUMPING
TRUCKS.
WHEREAS, the City operates and maintains three sewage
treatment plants within the Bakersfield Metropolitan area which can
accept for disposal, domestic wastes from sewage pumping trucks; and
WHEREAS, the City is desirous of attempting to solve a
critical sewage disposal situation from sewage pumpers creating
serious public health and sanitation problems within the City of
Bakersfield and adjacent county area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Director of Public Works of the City of Bakersfield
is authorized to execute on behalf of the City, written agreements
with properly licensed sewage pumpers to dispose of sewage at the
sewage treatment plants.
2. The Director of Public Works shall have the authority
to regulate the equipment, disposal location, hours of dumping, type
of waste and other items deemed necessary for efficient operation
of the sewage treatment plants.
3. The City reserves the right to change its policy of
sewage dumping at the treatment plants and the City reserves the
right to adjust the rate to be'charged for providing a dumping site.
4. The fee to be charged is hereby fixed as follows:
$5.00 per load or portion thereof for each
truck having a liquid capacity of 2,000
gallons or less.
Trucks with a liquid capacity greater than
2,000 gallons will be charged at a rate per
· - load to be determined by the Director of
Public Works with the approval of the City
Manager.
5. Payment of fees provided in this Resolution shall be
due and payable bi-monthly. Bills for such service may be rendered
by the Finance Director and when not paid shall become delinquent
thirty days after the first mailing, at which time and in which
event, the City may sue in the civil courts for the collection of
such fees.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 18th day of September, 1972, by the
