A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CALLING SPECIAL MUNICIPAL LOW
RENT HOUSING PROJECT ELECTION TO BE HELD
IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ON NOVEMBER 7,
1972, AND REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION OF SAID
ELECTION WITH THE GENERAL STATEWIDE ELECTION.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
(1) That a Special Municipal Low Rent Housing Project
Election is hereby called and shall be held in the City of
Bakersfield.
(2) That at said election to be held on November 7, 1972,
there shall be submitted to the electors within the City of
Bakersfield the following proposition under the provisions of
Article XXXIV of the Constitution of the State of California as
follows, to wit:

Shall the Housing Authority of the County
of Kern develop, construct and acquire in Yes
the City of Bakersfield, with Federal
financial assistance, a low rent housing
project or projects not to exceed in the
aggregate two hundred (200) dwelling units
for living accommodations for elderly
persons of low income? No
(3) That the polls at the polling places for said elec-
tions shall be opened at 7 A. M. of said day of election and shall
be kept open continuously thereafter until 8 P. M. of said day of
election, when the polls shall be closed (except as provided other-
wise in the Elections Code) and the election officers shall thereupon
proceed to canvass the ballots cast thereat.
(4) That the measure hereinabove set out and to be submitted
to the electors of the City of Bakersfield shall be submitted to the
said electors of the City of Bakersfield at a special election to be
held on November 7, 1972, at the same time and places as the general
Statewide election and the Board of Supervisors of the County of Kern
is hereby requested to consolidate said Special Election with the
general Statewide election to be held on said day, and upon approval
of said consolidation by order of the said Board of Supervisors pur-
suant to the Elections Code of the State of California, the election
officers, polling places and voting precincts shall be established as
set forth by said Board of Supervisors for said general Statewide
election. The City Council further authorizes and requests the
Board of Supervisors of the County of Kern to canvass the returns
of said special municipal election.
(5) That the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield shall
cause to be published a Notice of Election in the time, manner and
form required by the provisions of the Election Code of the State
of California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 21st day of August, 1972, by the follow-
ing vote:
