RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE
GREATER BAKERSFiELD SEPARATION OF GRADE DISTRICT
A PORTION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS
"KERN RIVER NO. 1," AND SETTING THE TIME AND
PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO THE INCLUSION
OF SAID TERRITORY WITHIN SAID DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been commenced for the annexa-
tion of certain unincorporated territory, designated as "Kern River
No. 1," to the City of Bakersfield, and
WHEREAS, a portion of said territory lies outside the
Greater Bakersfield Separation of Grade District, and
WHEREAS, Section 8290 of the Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California, provides that the unincorporated terri-
tory of a county which was not included within a separation of grade
district at the time of the formation of such district, and which
subsequent to the formation of such district is annexed to or other-
wise included within a city which is a part of such district, shall
immediately upon such annexation to such city be included within the
district and shall thereafter become a part of the district to the
same extent as such city; except such portion or portions thereof
which the City Council has determined, will not be benefited by
inclusion in the district.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, as follows:
1. That a description of the unincorporated territory
described in the annexation proceedings, is as follows:
PARCEL A:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California
and being a portion of Sections 26 and 27, T 29 S, R 27 E, M.D.B.& M.
and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the west line of the NE 1/4 of said Section
26 lying 48.88 feet south, as measured along said west line, from the
north one-quarter corner of said Section 26, said point being on the
south right-of-way line of Rosedale Highway, of 110 feet in width,
and being also a point on the Corporate Boundary of the City of
Bakersfield.
Thence (1) generally southerly and westerly along said Corporate
Boundary to a point on the south line of said Section 27 lying 2000
feet west, as measured along said south line, from the southeast
corner of said Section 27;
Thence (2) departing from said Corporate Boundary, northeasterly and
in a direct line, 2590 feet, more or less, to a point which is the

southeast corner of the N 1% of S
1/4 of said Section 27;
Thence (3) northerly along the east line of said Section 27,990
feet, more or less, to the northeast corner of the SE 1/4 of said
Section 27;
Thence (4) easterly along the north line of the SW 1/4 of said Section
26 1983.80 feet, more or less, to the southeast corner of the W
1/~ of the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of said Section 26;
Thence (5) northerly along the east line of the W 1/2 of the SE 1/4
of the NW 1/4 of said Section 26 and also along the east line of the
W 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of said Section 26, 1684.90 feet,
more or less, to intersect the south line of the north 963.40 feet
of the NW 1/4 of said Section 26;
Thence (6) easterly along the last named south line, 194.84 feet,
more or less, to intersect the west line of the east 466.7 feet of
the NW 1/4 of said Section 26;
Thence (7) northerly along the last named west line, 924.06 feet.,
more or less to a point which lies 39.34 feet south of the north line
of said Section 26, as measured along said west line, said point
also being on the south right-of-way line of Rosedale Highway, of
110 feet in width;
Thence (8) easterly along the last named south right-of-way 466.78
feet, more or less, to the point of beginning, containing 301.32
acres, more or less.
PARCEL B:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California
and being a portion of Sections 33 and 34, T 29 S, R 27 E, M.D.B.&
M. and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at intersection of the north line of the south 85 feet of
said Section 33 with east line of said Section 33;
Thence (1) westerly along the last named north line, 2077.51 feet,
more or less., to intersect the west line of that certain parcel of
land as described in a deed recorded in Book 4121, at page 280,
Official Records of said Kern County, said intersection being a point
on the Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield.
Thence (2) northerly, westerly, northerly and easterly along said
Corporate Boundary to a point on north line of the SW 1/4 oflSaid
Section 34 lying 460 feet east, as measured along said north line from
the northwest corner of the SW 1/4 of said Section 34;
Thence (3) departing from said Corporate Boundary, southwesterly and
in a direct line, 550 feet, more or less, to a point on the west
line of said Section 34 lying 300 feet south, as measured along said
west line, from the northwest corner of the SW 1/4 of said Section
34;
Thence (4) southerly, along the last named west line, 2260.31 feet,
more'or less, to the point of beginning, containing 166.49 acres more
or less.
PARCEL C:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
being a portion of Sections 32 and 33, T 29 S, R27 E, M.D.B.& M. and
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the east line of said Sec-
tion 32 with the north line of the south 80 feet of said Section 32,
said intersection being a point on the north right-of-way line of
Stockdale Highway, of 110 feet in width;
Thence (1) N 89°05'22'~, along the last named north line 1238.86
feet, more or less, to intersect the east right-of-way line of the
Arvin-Edison Water Storage District Canal, as said right-of-way line
and said bearing are described in parcel 1C-1 of that certain Order
of Condemnation recorded in Book 3840, at page 291, Official Records
of said Kern County;
Thence (2) as per description of said parcel 1C-l, along the follow-
ing 14 courses: N 2°49'11"E, 42.493 feet to the beginning of a
tangent curve;
Thence (3) northerly along said curve, concave to the southeast,
with a radius of 165 feet through an angle of 52o38'36'' an arc dis-
tance of 151.602 feet to the end point of said curve;
Thence (4) N 55°27'47"E, 77.03 feet, to the beginning of a tangent
curve;
Thence (5) northerly along said curve, concave to the northwest, with
a radius of 335 feet, through an angle of 14o22'42'' an arc distance
of 84,068 feet to the end point of said curve;
Thence (6) N 41°05'05"E, 218.47 feet to the beginning of a tangent
curve;
Thence (7) northerly along said curve, concave to the northwest, with
a radius of 712.06 feet, through an angle of 8°12'34'', an arc dis-
tance of 102,025 feet to the end point of said curve;
Thence (8) N 32°52'31"E, 370.90 feet;
Thence (9) N 57°07'29'~, 15 feet to the beginning of a curve;
Thence (10) northerly along said curve, concave to the southeast,
with a radius of 930 feet, through an angle of 6029'34'', an arc
distance of 105.388 feet to the end point of said curve;
Thence (11) N 39°22'05"E, 1453.39 feet, to the beginning of a tangent
curve;
Thence (12) northerly along said curve, concave to the northwest,
with a radius of 770. feet, through an angle of 23°35'22'', an arc
distance of 317.019 feet to the end point of said curve;
Thence (13) N 15°46'43"E, 618.06 feet to the beginning of a tangent
curve;
Thence (14) northerly along said curve, concave to the west, with
a radius of 320 feet, through an angle of 55046'43'', an arc distance
of 311.527 feet to the end point of said curve;
Thence (15) N 40°00'00'~, 465 feet, more or less, to intersect the
south line of the north 1600 feet of said Section 33;
.Thence (16) easterly along the last named south line, 980 feet, more
or less, to intersect the west line of the E 1/2 of the W 1/2 of
said Section 33, said intersection being a point on the Corporate
Boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
Thence (17) southerly and westerly along said Corporate Boundary to
inter. sect the east line of the west 55 feet of said Section 33, said
intersection being a point on the north right-of-way line of Stock-
dale Highway, of 110 feet in width;
Thence (18) departing from said Corporate Boundary, westerly along
the last named north right-of-way line, 55 feet, more or less, to the
point of beginning, containing 109.83 acres, more or less.
2. That unless any portion shall be excluded by the City
Council, all portions of said unincorporated territory shall, upon
annexation to the City of Bakersfield, be included within the Greater
Bakersfield Separation of Grade District.
3. That Monday, the 24th day of July, 1972, at the hour
of 8 P. M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun
Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the time when and the place
where, objections to inclusion within the district will be heard.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 12th day of June, 1972, by the following
vote:
