RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE
OCCURRENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY IN THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD DUE TO NATURAL DISASTER.
WHEREAS, on June 7, 1972, a natural disaster within the
meaning of Section 1 of Chapter 74, Statutes 1972 Regular Session
of the California Legislature, occurred in the City of Bakersfield,I
California; and
WHEREAS, storm and flood has caused extensive damage and
destruction to public real property owned by the City, the full
extent and value of which has not been determined; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield intends, within the
period allowed by law, to make application for state assistance and
request an allocation of funds to restore, repair or replace said
public real property which has been damaged or destroyed by such
natural disaster.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. It is hereby declared that an emergency exists in the
City of Bakersfield due to a natural disaster (flood, storm) occur-
ring on June 7, 1972.
2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to take all reasonable, necessary, and required steps to
make proper application to the appropriate state agencies for assist-
ance and allocations of funds to restore, repair or replace public
real property of the City of Bakersfield damaged or destroyed by
the natural disaster occurring on June 7, 1972.
3. That the City Clerk is directed to forthwith forward
a certified copy of this Resolution to the Dix'ector of the Office
of Emergency Services of the State of California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 12th day of June, 1972, by the following
vote:
