A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF CITY
AN AGREEMENT RELATING TO PREPARATION OF
POPULATION ESTIMATE BY STATE DEPARTMENT
OF FINANCE FOR CITY.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
that Donald M. Hart, Mayor, is hereby authorized and directed to
execute on behalf of said City of Bakersfield, an agreement
between the Department of Finance of the State of California and
the City of Bakersfield, relating to preparation of a population
estimate for the City of Bakersfield, by the 'said Department of
Finance.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of April, 1972, by the following
vote:

RESOLUTION NO. 19-72
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD ADOPTING THE HOUSING
ELEMENT OF THE BAKERSFIELD METROPOLITAN
AREA GENERAL PLAN.
WHEREAS, Section 65302 of the Government Code of the State
of California requires that the General Plan for the physical develop-
ment of the City shall include a Housing Element consisting of
standards and plans for the improvement of housing and for provision
of adequate sites for housing needs of all economic segments of the
community; and
WHEREAS, such Housing Element, consisting of'maps and text,
has been prepared and placed on file in the office of the City Clerk
and the Planning Department for inspection by the public; and
WHEREAS, t'he Planning Commission on March 1, 1972, by its
Resolution No. 1-72, approved said Housing Element, after notice and
'hearing as required by law; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with t'he provisions of Sections
65351 and 65355 of the Government Code, due notice of the time and
place of a public hearing before the City Council was given; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held and conducted a public
hearing, in every respect in accordance wit'h the published notice and
the law, on March 20, 1972, for the purpose of hearing any person
desiring to be heard on the matter of the adoption of the Housing
Element of the Bakersfield Metropolitan Area General Plan.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD as follows:
1. That the attached Housing Element of the Bakersfield
Metropolitan Area General Plan,' consisting'of maps and text, dated
March 1, 1972, is hereby adopted.
2. That the Clerk of this Council shall endorse in writing
on said Housing Element document to show that it was adopted by the
City Council on April 3, 1972.
3. That the Clerk of this Council shall forthwith send
an endorsed copy of t'he said adopted Housing Element to the
Planning Commission of 'the._County of Kern.
