RESOLUT ON AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION
WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
FOR A GRANT TO AID IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PARK SITE
AT GRISSOM STREET AND WHITE LANE.
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development is authorized
to make grants for Open S~ace Land Development; and
WHEREAS, the contract for financial assistance will impose certain
obligations upon the applicant, including the provision by it of the local share
of project costs:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakers-
field as follows:
1. That the City Manager is authorized to execute and file an applica-
tion on behalf of the City of Bakersfield with the Department of Housing and Urban
Development to aid in the financing of the development of the Grissom-White Lane
park site.
2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute and file with such
application an assurance or any other document required by the Department of
Housing and Urban Development under its regulation effectuating Title VI of the
Civil Rights Act of 1964.
3. That Harold E. Bergen, City Manager, is authorized to furnish such
additional information as the Department of Housing and Urban Development may
require in connection with the application or the project.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on
the27th day of March, 1972, by the following vote:
