A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD EXPRESSING ITS INTENTION TO CUT
THE TAX RATE BY FIFTY CENTS OR MORE DURING
FISCAL 1972-1973.
WHEREAS, after many years the City of Bakersfield has gone
to a direct charge for refuse collection in the City of Bakersfield
rather than financing the same out of the general funds of the
City, and
WHEREAS, this change of concept can result in appropriate
changes in the tax rate set by the Council for the operation of
City services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. It is the intention of the City Council of the City
of Bakersfield to reduce taxes in the forthcoming fiscal year 1972-1973
by fifty cents or more at the time set for establishing a tax rate
on all taxable property in the City of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 6th day of December, 1971, by the
following vote:
