Home My WebLink AboutRES NO 78-71RESOLUTION NO. 78-71 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR A GRANT TO AID IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A STORM SEWER COLLECTION SYSTEM. WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development is authorized to make grants for water and sewer facility construc- tion; and WHEREAS, the contract for financial assistance will impose certain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision by it of the local share of project costs; and WHEREAS, it is required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, issued pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, that in connection with the filing of an application for assistance under the Water and Sewer Grant Pro- gram, the applicant gives an assurance that it will comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. That the City Manager is authorized to execute and file an application on behalf of the City of Bakersfield with the Department of Housing and Urban Development to aid in the financ- ing of the construction of the collector system. 2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute and file with such application an assurance or any other document required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development under its Regulation effectuating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. " 3. That Harold E.
