RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF THE
ALLEY IN BLOCK 421-B AND A PORTION OF
CEDAR STREET, IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of May, 1971, the Council of
the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street
Vacation Act of 194L" being Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its
Resolution of Intention No. 864, declaring its intention to order
the vacation of a portion of Cedar Street and the alley in Block
421-B, City of Bakersfield, California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was held on the 17th day of May, 1971, after
notices were duly posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
i. That the alley in Block 421-B and that portion of
Cedar Street situate in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California, more particularly described as follows, are
unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes:
All of the alley running easterly and westerly
through Block 421-B, City of Bakersfield,
adjacent and southerly of Lots 1 through 10
inc lu s ive.
All that portion of Cedar Street lying between
the southerly line of 18th Street and a line
142 feet southerly from and parallel with the
southerly line of 18th Street.
EXCEPTING and reserving all of said alley
and Cedar Street for Public Utilities.,Easement,.

of the City of Bakersfield, recorded NOVember 25,
1898 in Book 1 of maps at pages 13 and 14, Records
of Kern County, California...
2. That said portion of Cedar-Street and the alley in
Block 421-B be and the same are hereby &tosed up, vacated and
abandoned for public street purposes subject to and in conformity
with said Resolution of Intention No. 864. Reference to said
Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution and shall c~Use a certified copy hereof, attested by
the Clerk under the seal of the City to be recorded in the office
of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 17th day of May, 1971, by the following
vote:
