A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, EXTENDING
TIME BY 30 DAYS WITHIN WHICH THE REMOVAL OF
OVERHEAD FACILITIES AND UNDERGROUND INSTAL-
LATION SHALL BE COMPLETED BY UTILITIES IN
UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 2.
SECTION 1. WHEREAS:
(a) Underground Utility District No. 2 was formed
on April 12, 1971, by Resolution No. 37-71; and
(b) The Council fixed December 31, 1971, for Division 1
(Mt. Vernon area) and December 31, 1973, for Division 2 (County
Building area) and December 31, 1973, for Division 3 (City Hall
area) as the dates on which affected property owners must be
ready to receive underground service; and
(c) The Council also fixed the above dates for t'he
removal of all poles, overhead wires and associated overhead
structures and the underground installation of wires and facilities
for supplying electric, communication,.cable'television or similar
or associated service within District No. 2, by the utilities; and
(d) The Council does not desire to change the dates
specified above for affected property owners to be ready to receive
underground service in District No. 2 but does desire to extend by
30 days the time within which the utilities shall remove and under-
ground.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. The City Council does 'hereby order the removal of all
poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures and the
~nderground installation'Of wires and'~acilities'for supplying
electric, communication, cable television or similar or associated
service within Underground Utility District No. 2 no later than
30 days following the dates specified in Resolution No. 37-71
and hereinabove in this Resolution specified.
2. The Clerk shall mail a certified copy of this
Resolution to all affected utilities.

passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on April 26~h, 1971, by the
