RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE
GREATER BAKERSFIELD SEPARATION OF GRADE DISTRICT
CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "STOCKDALE NO. 4,"
AND SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
OBJECTIONS TO THE INCLUSION OF SAID TERRITORY
WITHIN SAID DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been commenced for the annexation
of certain unincorporated territory, designated as "STOCKDALE NO. 4,"
to the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, all of said territory lies outside the Greater
Bakersfield Separation of Grade District; and
WHEREAS, Section 8290 of the Streets and Highways Code
of the State of California, provides that the unincorporated
territory of a county which was not included within a separation
of grade district at the time of the formation of such district,
and which subsequent to the formation of such district is annexed
to or otherwise included within a city which is a part of such
district, shall immediately upon such annexation to such city be
included within the district and shall thereafter become a part
of the district to the same extent as such city; except such portion
or portions thereof which the City Council has determined, will
not be 'ib'enefited by inclusion in the district.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
1. That a description of the unincorporated territory
described in the annexation proceedings, is as follows:
PARCEL A:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of Sections 4 and 9, T.30S., R.27E., M.D.B.& M.,
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the east line of said Section 4 which lies
1530.32 feet north as measured along the east line of said Section
4 from the southeast corner thereof, said point being also on
Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield as defined by
Ordinance No. 1799, New Series;
Thence (1) southerly, along the east line of said Sections 4 and 9,
to a point which lies 1855 feet southerly as measured along the
east line of said Section 9 from the northeast corner thereof;
Thence (2) (assuming a bearing of S 0Q03'18'' E for the east line
of said Section 9) departing from said Corporate Boundary, S
89°56'42" W, 400.00 feet, to the beginning of a tangent curve;
Thence (3) westerly along said curve, concave to the northeast,
with a radius of 2255 feet, through an angle of 28°15'35'' an arc
distance of 1112.22 feet to the end point of said curve;
Thence (4) N 61~47'33'' W, 1333.10 feet, more or less, to intersect
the west line of the NE 1/4 of said Section 9:
Thence (5) northerly along the last named west line and the west
line of the SE 1/4 of said Section 4, 1726.95 feet, more or less,
to a point on the south line of Tract No. 1816 as said Tract is
shown on a map recorded in Book 9 of Maps, Page 9, Records of said
Kern County, said point bears N 71°58'50" E, 182.86 feet, more or
less, from the southwest corner of said Tract No. 1816, said bearing
being as shown on the map of said Tract No. 1816;
Thence (6) in accordance with the map of said Tract No. 1816,
along the following 2 courses; N 71°58'50'' E, 412.24 feet, more or
less, to a point which bears N 71~58'50'' E, 595.10 feet from the
southwest corner of said Tract No. 1816;
Thence (7) N 65°35'50" E, 453,128 feet to the southwest corner of
Tract No. 2080, as said tract is shown on a map recorded in Book
10 of Maps, Page 6, Records of said Kern County;
Thence (8) in accordance with the map.of said Tract No. 2080, along
the following 4 courses; N 65°35'41'' E, 93,799 feet;
Thence (9) N 86°50'18,' E, 287,402 feet;
Thence (10) N 74°11'28'' E, 521,743 feet;
Thence (11) N 76°15'13'' E, 228,106 feet to the southwest corner of
Tract No. 1447, as said Tract is shown on a map recorded in Book 6
of Maps, page 152, Records of said Kern County;
Thence (12) in accordance with the map of said Tract No. 1447,
50' E, 541.27 feet;
along the following 3 courses; N 84o36' '
Thence (13) N 56°57'18,' E, 57.98 feet;
Thence (14) N 40°53'51,' E, 77.98 feet;.
Thence (15) easterly along a line perpendicular to the east line
of said Section 4, 103.09 feet, more or less, to the point of
beginning, containing 161.56 acres of land, more or less.
- PARCEL B:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of Section 4, T.30S., R.27E., M.D.B.& M., and
Section 33, T.29S., R.27E., M.D.B.& M., more particularly described
as follows:
Commencing at the southwest corner of said Section 33;
Thence (1) (using as basis of bearing the bearing of N 0°01'18"E
for the west line of said Section 33 as shown in Parcel 1 of that
certain deed recorded in Book 3769, page 863, Official Records of
said Kern County) N 0°01'18'' E, 80 feet, to a point on the north
right-of-way line of Stockdale Highway, of 110 feet in width, also
known as County Road No. 2341;
Thence (2) S 89°50!12,' E along said north right-of-way line, 55
feet, more or less to intersect the east line of the west 55 feet
of said Section 33, being the true point of beginning for this
description;
Thence (3) continuing S 89°50'12'' E along said north right-of-way
line 1269.37 feet, more or less, to intersect the east line of the
W 1/~ of the SW 1/4 of said Section 33, said intersection also
being a point on the Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield
as defined by Ordinance No. 1778, New Series;
Thence (4) southerly along the last named CorpOrate Boundary to a
point which is the southerly terminus of Course 2 as defined by the
last named Ordinance, said point also being on the north line of that
certain parcel of land designated as Parcel 2 in a deed recorded
June 12, 1928 in Book 246, Page 382, Official Records of said Kern
County;
Thence (5) departing from said Corporate Boundary, westerly, 1280
feet, more or less, along the last named north line and westerly
prolongation thereof, being also along the westerly prolongation
of Course 1 of the Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield
as defined by said Ordinance No. 1778, New Series, to intersect
the east line of the west 55 feet of said Section 4;
Thence (6) northerly along the last named east line and the east
line of the west 55 feet of said Section 33 to the point of beginning,
containing 88.57 acres, more or less.
PARCEL C:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of Section 4, T.30S., R.27E., M.D.B.& M. and
Section 33, T.29S., R.27E., M.D.B.& M., more particularly described
as follows:
Co~f~encing at the southeast corner of said Section 33;
Thence (1) N 89°43'00'' W, along the south line of said Section 33,
2077.51 feet, more or less, to intersect the southerly extension of
the west line of that certain parcel of land'as described in a deed
recorded in Book 4121, at Page 280, Official Records of said Kern
County, being the true point of beginning for this description;
Thence (2) S 0°17'00'' W, 25 feet, more or less to intersect the
..-south right-of-way-line of.Stockdale Highway as said .right-of-way
line is shown on a map of Tract No. 2548, recorded in Book 12 of
Maps, at Page 56, Records of said Kern County;
Thence (3) westerly along said south right-of-way line and extension
thereof, 838.47 feet, more or less, to intersect the west line of
said Tract No. 2548, said intersection also being a point on the
Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield as defined by the
Ordinance No. 1778, New Series;
Thence (4) northerly along the last named Corporate Boundary, 628.41
feet, more or less, to intersect the westerly prolongation of the
north line of said certain parcel of land as described in a deed
recorded in Book 4121, at Page 280, Official Records of said Kern
County;
Thence (5) S 89°43'00"E along the last named westerly prolongation,
838.47 feet, more or less, to the northwest corner of the last
named parcel of land;
Thence (6) S 0°17'00'' W, along the west line of the last named
parcel of land, 603.41 feet, more or less, to the true point of
beginning, containing 12.10 acres more or less.
2. That unless any portion'shall be excluded by the
City Council, all portions of said unincorporated territory shall
upon annexation to the City of Bakersfield be included within the
Greater Bakersfield Separation of Grade District.
3. That Monday, the i~l. th day of iM'~'.~, 1971, at the
hour of 8:00 P. M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 1501
Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the time when and the
place where, objections to inclusion within the district will be
heard.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 5th day of April, 1971, by
the following vote:
