A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR
HEARING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL
PROPERTY WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS
"AKERS NO. 1," PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the
City of Bakersfield on the 30th day of March, 1971, requesting
that certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to
and incorporated within the City of Bakersfield, and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not
less than one-fourth (1/4) of the areaof the land in'such territory,
and representing not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed
value of such territory according to the last preceding equalized
assessment roll of the County of Kern.
NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as
amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California
and. being a portion of Sections 11, 12, 13 and 14, Township 30 South,
Range 27 East, M.D.B.& M., and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the north line of the south 55 feet
of the N 1/2 of said Section 14 with the east line of the W 1/2 of
the SW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 14, said intersection also
being the north right-of-way line of White Lane (formerly County
Road No. 2247) and said intersection also being a point on the
Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield as defined by
Ordinance No. 1799, New Series;
Thence (1) westerly, northerly and easterly along courses 60
through 68 of the last named Corporate Boundary to the easterly
terminus of said course 68, said easterly terminus also being a
point on the south line of the north 30 feet of the SW 1/4 of said
Section 11;
Thence (2) departing from said Corporate Boundary, easterly along
the last named south line, 391 feet, more or less, to intersect
the west line of the east 600.31 feet of the NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4
of said Section 11;
Thence (3) southerly along the last named west line, 270 feet,
more or less to intersect the south line of the north 300 feet
of the SW 1/Z of said Section 11;
Thence (4) easterly along the last named south line, 100 feet,
more or less to.intersect the west line of the east 500.31 feet
of the NW 1/Z of the SW 1/4 of said Section 11;
Thence (5) southerly along the last named west line, 80 feet,
more or less to intersect the south line of the north 380 feet
of the SW 1/Z of said Section 11;
Thence (6) easterly along the last named south line, 307.31 feet,
more or less, to intersect the west line of the east 193 feet of
the NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of said Section 11;
Thence (7) northerly along the last named west line, 335 feet,
more or less, to intersect the south line of the north 45 feet of
the SW 1/4 of said Section 11;
Thence (8) easterly along the last named south line, 853.32 feet,
more or less to intersect the east line of the W 172 of the E 172
of the SW 1/Z of said Section 11, said intersection also being a
point on the west line of Tract No. 2508, as said Tract is shown
on a map recorded December 21, 1961 in Book 12 of Maps, page 113,
records of said Kern County;
Thence (9) (using as a basis of boarin~ the bearing of the west

line of said Tract No 2508) S 0°10'41' W, 711,854 feet, along
the west lines'of said Tract No. 2508 and Tract No. 2566 as said
Tract No. 2566 is shown on a map recorded June 8, 1962, in Book
12 of Maps, Page 192, Records of said Kern County, being also
along the last named east line, to a point which is the southwest
corner of said Tract No. 2566;
Thence (10) S 89°24'15"E along the south line of said Tract
No. 2566, 395.450 feet, to a point which is the northwest corner
of Tract No. 2650 as said Tract No. 2650 is shown on a map
recorded November 8, 1963 in Book 14 of Maps, page 13, Records
of said Kern County;
Thence (11) S 0°10'41" W along the west line of said Tract No.
2650, 845,365 feet, to intersect the north line of the south 45
feet of said Section 11;
Thence (12) easterly along the last named north line, 2831.72
feet, more or less, to a point which lies 20,138 feet westerly as
measured along.the last named north line from the west line of the
east 55 feet of said Section 11, said point also being the begin-'
ning of a tangent curve concave to the northwest and having a
radius of 20 feet;
Thence (13) easterly and northerly along said curve, concave to
the northwest, with a radius of 20 feet through an angle of 90°
23'40"-an arc distance of 31.555 feet to a point of tangency on
the west line of the east 55 feet of said Section 11, said point
of tangency also being a point on the Corporate Boundary of the
City of Bakersfield as defined by Ordinance No. 1679, New Series;
Thence (14) southerly, easterly, southerly, westerly and southerly
along the Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield to the
point of beginning and containing 367.29 acres, more or less.
That a designation appropriately naming such territory is
'~kers No. 1."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the 24th day of May,
1971, at the hour of 8:00 P. M., in the Council Chambers of the
City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the
time when and the place where any person owning. real property
within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any
objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council
of the City of Bakersfield and show cause why such territory should
not be annexed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 5th day of April, 1971, by the follow-
ing vote:
