HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 19-71RESOLUTION NO. 19-~1 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF MANOR STREET, IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD. WHEREAS, on the 18th day of January, 1971, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941", being Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 862, declaring its intention to order the vacation of a portion of Manor Street, City of Bakersfield, California; and WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation, which said hearing was held on the 8th day of February, 1971, after notices were duly posted as required by law; and WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter, does hereby find and resolve as follows: 1. That that portion of Manor Street situate in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, more particularly described as follows, is unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes: All that portion of the East one half of the Southeast one quarter of Section 18, Township 29 South, Range 28 East, M.D.B.& M., described as follows: Beginning at a point in the East line of said Section 18 from which the Southeast corner of said Section 18 bears South 00° 49'54" East, 1700.67 feet thereon; Thence South 45° 40 51" West, 79.60 feet to the true point of beginning for this description said point also being the Northeast corner of that parcel of land acquired by said County of Kern for County highway purposes as described in the Final Judgment in Eminent Domain, County of Kern vs. Kern County Land Company et al., S. C. No. 66657, a copy of which judgment was recorde~ in the Office of said County Recorder in Book 2§36 of Official Records at page 260~ Thence continuing South 45 40'51" West, 2~3.08 feet; Thence South 84 51'34"'West~ ~71~48 feet; Thence South 8 45'00" East, 14.74 feet; Thence North 81 15 00" East, ~0.00 feet; Thence North 73o15'00'' East, 55.00 feet; ThenLe North 60 00'00" East, 48~00 feet; Thence North 45°40'51'' East, 144.00 feet; Thence North 00 49"54" West, parallel with the East line of said Section 18, 50.00 feet to the true point of beginning. 2. That said portion of Manor Street be and the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes subject to and in conformity with said Resolution of Intention No. 862. Reference to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars. 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by the Clerk under the seal of the City to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California. -o0o ..........
