RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO APPROVE AN AMEND-
MENT TO AGREEMENT NO. 10-62 ENTERED INTO BY
AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AND THE
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, (a) On February 19, 1962, the City of
Bakers field and the State of California entered into a Freeway
Agreement No. 10-62, covering that portion of State Highway Route
58, in the City of Bakersfield, between the west city. limit of
Bakers field at Wible Road and the east city limit of Bakersfield
on the extension of Quantico Avenue; and
(b) Said Agreement by its terms provides
that it may be modified or amended at any time upon mutual consent
of the parties; and
(c) The parties thereto desire to make certain
changes and modifications which the City Council of the City of
Bakersfield finds and determines to be in the public interest; and
(d) These changes were proposed by the Div-
ision of Highways of the Department of Public Works of the State
of California and have the recommendation of the Bakersfield
Planning Corf~is s ion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, as
follows:
A. That the following changes in the existing Freeway
Agreement are hereby approved:
1. Closure of Brite Street between a point
about 185 feet, plus or minus, east of the centerline of Oleander
Avenue and Houchin Road.
2. Provision of a cul-de-sac on Houchin Road
at the southerly freeway right-of-way·
B. That the City agrees to accept control and
maintenance of the Houchin Road cul-de-sac upon notice to the
City from the State that the work thereon has been completed,
except as to any portion thereof which is adopted by the State
as a part of the freeway proper. The City also agrees to accept
title to the portion of such facility lying outside the freeway
limits, upon relinquishment by the State.
C. That the existing Freeway Agreement be amended to
incorporate said modifications which are shown on the map
attached hereto marked "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof by
this reference which includes and is limited to the above-described
change s.
D. That the City Clerk of ~the City of Bakersfield is
hereby directed to forward two (2) certified copies of this
Resolution to the State of California, Business and Transportation
Agency, Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, District
6, P. O. Box 1352, Fresno, California 93715.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 1st day of February, 1971, by
the following vote:
