A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD FINDING AND DECLARING
THAT A MAJORITY PROTEST HAS NOT BEEN
MADE AGAINST' THE ANNEXATION OF TERRACE
WAY NO. 1 TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, a written petition was filed with the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, requesting that certain inhabited
territory therein described be annexed to the City of Bakersfield;
and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 85-70, the Council of the
City of Bakersfield declared its intention to call a special
election in certain inhabited territory contiguous to said city
proposed to be annexed to said city, for the purpose of submitting
to the qualified electors residing in said territory the question
whether or not said territory shall be annexed to said city, and
setting forth a time and place of hearing protests against said
proposed election; and
WHEREAS, a copy of said resolution was published as
required by law; and
WHEREAS, January 11, 1971, at the hour of 8:00 P. M. was
the time set for hearing protests by any person owning property
within the aforesaid territory; and
WHEREAS, all proceedings have been had in accordance
with the Annexation Act of 1913, reference thereto being made for
further particulars.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
That at the time set for hearing protests to the proposed
election a majority protest has not been made by private owners of
one-half the value of the territory proposed to be annexed, as
shown by the last equalized assessment roll, or by public and
private owners equal to one-half of the value of said territory.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the llth day of January, 1971, by
the following vote:
