83-70
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "AUBURN NO.2," PROPOSED
TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the
City of Bakersfield on the 7th day of December, 1970, requesting
that certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to
and incorporated within the City of Bakersfield, and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not
less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such territory,
and representing not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed
value of suc~ territory according to the last preceding equalized
assessment roll of the County of Kern.
NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as
amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of Sections 13 and 24, T 29 S, R 28 E, M.D.B.& M.
Being at the point of intersection of the east line of the W 1/2 of the
SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 and the north line of the E 1/2 of the SE 1/4
of the SW 1/4 of said Section 13, said point being on the Corporate
Boundary of the City of Bakersfield as described by Ordinance No. 1766,
New Series:
Thence (1) easterly along the last-named north line to intersect the
east line of SW 1/4 of said Section 13:
Thence (2) continuing easterly along the north line of the S 1/2 of
the SE 1/4 of said Section 13, to intersect on the west line of the
east 55 ft. of said Section 13;
Thence (3) southerly along the last-named west line to intersect
the south line of said Section 13;

said Section 24, 120.96 feet to a poirit on the northerly right-of-way
of Route 06-KER-178 (State Route 178 Freeway);
Thence (5) along the last-yarned northerly right-of-way line the
following 6 courses: N 83 01'50"W, 65.35 feet;

(8) S 89045'54"W, 1096.28 feet;
(9) S 89047'22"W, 800.72 feet, to
east one-half of said Section 24;

to the northwest corner of the NE 1/4 of said Section 24;
Thence (11) westerly along the north line of said Section 24 to
intersect the west line of the east 523.50 feet of the NW 1/4 of said
Section 24, said intersection being a point on the Corporate Boundary
as defined by Ordinance No. 1766, New Series;
Thence (12) northerly, westerly and northerly along the last-named
Corporate Boundary to the point of beginning.
That a designation appropriately naming such territory is
"Auburn No.2."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the 18th day of
January, 1971, at the hour of 8:00 P. M., in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is
the time when and the place where any person owning real property
within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any
objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council
of the City of Bakersfield and show cause why such territory should
not be annexed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 7th day of December, 1970, by the
fo llowing vote:
