Home My WebLink AboutRES NO 35-80RESOLUTION NO. 35-80 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ESTABLISHING THE OFFICIAL LiST OF DESIGNATED SPECIAL SPEED ZONES, PURSUANT TO SECTION 11.04.033'OF THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE. WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enact prima facie speed limits on.streets and roadways within the City of Bakersfield; and WHEREAS, said prima facie speed limits are enacted pur- suant to the provisions of the California Vehicle Code; and WHEREAS, said prima facie speed limits are being estab- lished for streets in the City of Bakersfield, after a traffic engineering survey was conducted; and WHEREAS, said prima facie speed limits will be incorporated into a "List of Speed Zones" for the City of Bakersfield. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. Under provisions of Section 11.04,033 of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, the prima facie speed limits for the following streets, or portions thereof, are hereby determined and declared to be twenty-five miles per hour, and s~all be included on the official City "List of Speed Zones": Baker, Truxtun to Niles Chester, Truxtun to 24th "F" Steet, 14th to 24th "H" Street, Truxtun to 24th "Q" Street, Truxtun to 21st '18th Street, "F" to "M" 19th Street, "F" to "G" 21st Street, "F" to "M" 2. Under provisions of Section 11.04,033 of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, the prima facie speed limits for the following streets, or portions thereof, are hereby determined and declared to be thirty miles per hour and shall be included on the official City "List of Speed Zones": FlOwer, Alta Vista.to Owens "H" Street, 24th to 30th "H" Street, California~to Truxtun Haley, California to E. Truxtun Real, Stockdaleto Palm University, River to Haley Virginia, King to SPRR ~CL) 3. Under provisions of Section 11.04.033of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, the.prima facie speed.'iimits for the following streets, or.portions thereof, are hereby determined and declared to be thirty-five miles per hour and shall be included in the official City "List of Speed Zones": Alta Vista, Kentucky to Bernard Auburn, Oswell to Columbus Baker, California to Truxtun Brundage, Olive to "N" Street California Avenue, "A" Street to "L" Street Chester Avenue, 24th to 34th Chester Avenue, Truxtun to Brundage Easton., Chester Lane to W. intersection with California Avenue "F" Street, 24th to Golden State "H" Street, California to Brundage. Hwy. to Centennial Park Niles, Espee to Union Oswell, Auburn to Columbus "P" Street, 4th to California Avenue Palm, Real to "H" Street "Q" Street, 21st Street to 34th Street "Q" Street, California to Truxtun Real Road, Palm to California So. King, Brundage to California (City portion) Traffic Circle Ramps at Golden State Truxtun, Pine to Oak Truxtun E., Owens to Sumner Union, 21st to Niles Wenatchee, University to Panorama 4th Street, "H" to "P" 18th, "M" to Kern 19th, "M" to Beale 21st, "M" to Beale 24th, Golden State to Union 4. Vernon, Panorama to Columbus New Stine, Hahn to Stockdale Pacheco, Wible to Eve (City portion) Panorama, Monte Vista to Columbus "Q" Street, 34th Street to Columbus e Stine, Panama Lane to Hahn Stine, Wilson to Park Circle Stockdale.
