HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 28-80 RESOLUTION NOo 28-80 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD OPPOSING ASSEMBLY BILL 2796, OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION TAX. WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield and its surrounding area is dependent upon revenue derived from local property taxes; and WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield and its metropolitan area have been able to provide essential government services to its residents, even with the recently imposed property tax limitations; and WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield is surrounded by active oil producing wells and refineries; and WHEREAS, property tax derived from these producers of oil and gas is essential to the continued efficient operation of the City of Bakersfield; and WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 2796 could seriously impair the efficient operation of services offered by the City of Bakersfield and its surrounding area.
