A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CALLING THE NOMINATING MUNICIPAL
ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR, PROVIDING
FOR THE CONSOLIDATION OF SAID' ELECTION WITH
THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE
OF SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY AN
AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
.CONSOLIDATED PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
JUNE 3, 1980.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 20(j) of the Bakersfield
City Charter, the Nominating Municipal Election for the office
of Mayor of the City of Bakersfield for the full term of four
years, shall be held concurrently with the State of California
Consolidated Primary Election; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Consolidated Primary
Election will be held on the 3d day of June, 1980; and
WHEREAS, by separate resolution of the Council, a Special
Municipal Election for the purpose of submitting to the electors
of the City an amendment to the Charter of the City of Bakersfield
is also called for June 3, 1980, and it is desired to consolidate
such election with the Nominating Municipal Election for the office
of Mayor of the City of Bakersfield and the State of California
Consolidated Primary Election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the Nominating Municipal Election For the Office
of Mayor of the City of Bakersfield for the full term of four years
is hereby called and will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 1980.
2. That said Nominating Municipal Election for the office
of Mayor of the City of Bakersfield is hereby ordered consolidated
with the Special Municipal Election For the Purpose of Submitting
to the Electors of the City an Amendment to the Charter of the City
Of Bakersfield and the State of California Consolidated Primary
Election to be held on June 3, 1980.
3. That the polls will be open for the puEpose of holding
said elections on said 3d day of June,! 1980, between the hours of
7 A. M. and 8 P. M.
4. That the list of candidates for the office of Mayor
of the City of BakerSfield, as the same is to appear on the ballot,
shall be as follows:

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution Was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the. 5th day of March, 1980, by the following
