A RESOLUTION DECLARING RESULT OF SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION REGARDING UNION AVENUE
NO. 9 ANNEXATION AND RECORDING UNFAVORABLE
VOTE.
WHEREAS, a special municipal election regardinq Union
Avenue No. 9 Annexation was held on November 6, 1979r as set out in
proceedinqs for the Special Municipal Election; and
WHEREAS, as authorized bV the CitV Council, the CountV
Clerk of the County of Kern canvassed the returns of the said annexa-
tion election and certified the results of the canvass of said returns
to the Council of the City of Bakersfield on December 5, 1979.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the special municipal election regarding Union
Avenue No. 9 Annexation was held and conducted on November 6, 1979,
in the time, form and manner as prescribed bv law, as Measure "A" on
the ballot.
2. That the whole number of votes cast on the proposition
of Union Avenue No. 9 Annexation was 100; that there were 26 affirma-
tive votes cast and 74 negative votes cast.
3. That a majority of the votes were not cast in favor of
annexation; therefore, the proceedings in that matter are therefore
terminated.
4. That the Certificate of County Clerk dated November 29,
1979, is attached hereto and made a part of this resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the' COuncil of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 5th day of December, 1979, by the following
vote:

certify that pursuant to the provisions of Section 23550 of the
California Elections Code, I did canvass the returns of the vote
cast at the CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ANNEXATION-UNION AVENUE 9
on Thursday, November 8, 1979, in said County, as consolidated with
the General District Election held on November 6, 197q, and that the
Statement of Vote Cast, to which this c~rtificate is attached show~:
1. The number of ballots cast for elective offices of that
district.

2. The name of each candidate for an elective office of that
district voted for and the office.
3. The number of votes cast in each precinct for each such
candidate.
Also the totals of the respective columns and the totals as
shown for each candidate are full, true and correct.
