A RESOLUTION OF--THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKE!ISFIELD MAKIN.G CERTAIN FINDINGS THAT PROVISION
OF LOW-AND-MODERATE-INCOME HOUSING OUTSIDE THE
PROJ'ECT AREA AS AIdENDED BY THE THIRD A~'~.NDMENT,
WILL'BE OF BENEFIT TO THE PROJECT AS A~LENDED.
WIIEREAS, the Bakers field Redevelopment Agency (the "Agency")
and this City Council proposes to add cer~_ain land to the Down-
town Bakers field RedeVelopment Project by way of the Th!i. rd
Amendment to the Amended Redeveiopment Plan for the Project, and
WHEREAS, the Community Redevelopment Law reauires the Agency
to expend certain tax increment funds derived from the added areas
to increase and improve the .supply of tow or moderate-income hou--
sing in the City, and to rep_lace low and moderate-income housing
units destroyed and removed from the housing market by Agency
activities in the added areas; and
WHEt~EAS, the Agency proposes to use funds pursuant to
Sections 33334.2 and 33413 of said law to provide low or moderate-
income housing; and
WHEREAS, said law provides that the Agency may use such
funds outside the Project area upon a resolution by the Agency and
the City Council. that such use will be of benefit to the Project;
NOW, THEREFO[@:, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Bakers field that the provision for low and moderate-income hou--
sing outside of the Project area, as amended, pursuant-to applic-
able provisions of law will be of benefit to the 'Project.
