RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD PROPOSING PROCEEDINGS
FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF
BAKERS.FIELD, IDENTIFIED AS ANNEXATION NO. 279
(COLLEGE NO. 3).
WHEREAS, the City of BakerSfield desires to propose a
change of organization; to wit, the annexation to the City of
Bakersfield of the hereinafter-described territory under the authority
of Section 35140 of the Government Code of the State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Bakersfield
hereby Resolves, Finds, and Determines as follows:
1. That the City of Bakersfield hereby'proposes the
annexation to the City of Bakersfield of the territory described
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, and made a part of this Resolution
as though fully set forth herein.
2. That a map of the territory proposed to be so annexed,
marked Exhibit "B", is attached hereto, and made a part of this
Resolution as though fully set forth herein.
3. That a Plan For Providing Services within the affected
territory of the proposed annexation, in accordance with the provi-
sions of Section 35102 of the Government Code is marked as Exhibit
"C", attached hereto, and made a part hereof as though fully set
forth herein.
4. That this proposal for change of organization, to
wit, annexation, is made pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act
of 1977, commencing with Section 35000 of the Government Code of the
State of California, it is requested that proceedings be authorized
for annexation in accordance therewith.
5. That the reasons for the proposed change of organi-
zation are that the'owners of the affected territory desire to
receive, and in some instances already are receiving, municipal
services from the City of Bakersfield and the City desires to
receive tax revenues for benefits given and to be given to the
territory proposed to be annexed.
6. The zoning upon annexation of College No. 3 will be
essentially the same as presently exists in the county.
7. That the names of the officers of the City of
Bakersfield who are to be furnished with copies of the Executive
Officer's Report and who are to be given mailed Notice of Hearing,
if any, are:

8. That the appropriate City officials shall file ten
(10) copies of this Resolution, with Exhibits, with the Executive
Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County
at 1110 Twenty-Sixth Street, Bakersfield, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the.Council of the 'City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 27th day of June, 1979, by the following

ANNEXATION NO. 279
COLLEGE NO. 3
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California, being
a portion of the North Half of Section 2S, Township 29 South, Range 28 East, M.D.M.,
and a portion of the North Half of Section 30, Township 29 South, Range 29 East,
M.D.M., more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the South line of the North 1022.39 feet
of said Section 30 with the East line of the Nest SS feet of the last named section,
said intersection being a ~oint on the exterior Corporate Boundary of the City of
Bakersfield, and being ~l. so the True Point of Beginning for this description;
~HENCE (1) departing from said Corporate Boundary southerly along last named East
line a distance of 332 feet, more or less, to intersect the South line of the
North 30 feet of the South Half of the North Half of said Section 30, said line
also being the Easterly extension of the South Right of Way line of Willis Avenue
(County Road D-759);
THENCE (2) Westerly along the last named South line and the South line of the
North 30 feet of the South Half of the North Half of said Section 2S, a distance
of 1348 feet, more or less, to a point in the East line of the Nest 30 feet of
the ~ast Half of the East Half of said Section 25, said line also being the East
Right of Nay line of Park Drive (County Road No. 1827);
THENCE (3) Southerly along the last named East line and Right of Way line a
distance of 1273 feet, more or less, to a point in the North line of the South
SO feet of the North Half of said Section 2S, said point also being a point in
the North Right of Way line of East Niles Street (County Road No. 303);
THENCE (4) Westerly along last named North line, a distance of 1769.38 feet, more
or less, to a point in the East boundary line of Tract No. 1744, as shown in Map
Book 9 at Page 14 in the Office of the Kern County Recorder;
THENCE (S) along the exterior boundary lines of Tract Nos. 1744, 1861 and 2490
the following five (5) courses: N 0° 31' 45" E, a distance of 1099.99 feet;
THENCE (6) N 89* 44' 1S" E, a distance of 44.43 feet;
THENCE (7) N 0° 28' 41" E, a distance of 470.04 feet;
THENCE [8) S 89° 44' 1S" W, a distance of 70.01 feet;
THENCE (9) N 0° 28' 41" E, a distance of 978.47 feet, more or less, to intersect
the South Right of Way line of College Avenue, said intersection being a point
in said exterior Corporate Boundary;
THENCE (10) Easterly and along various courses of said exterior Corporate Boundary
to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
