RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COmmISSION OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECOMMENDING
ADOPTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE CIRCULATION
ELEMENT OF THE BAKERSFIELD METROPOLITAN AREA
GENERAL PLAN.
WHEREAS~ the Circulation Element of. the Bakersfield
Metropolitan Area General Plan is required to be reviewed periodi-
cally and such review has shown the need for certain amendments
thereto, as set forth herein; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Bakersfield
has duly set, noticed and conducted a public hearing with regard to
said amendments in the manner required by law and has Considered
all matters brought before it; and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interesh of the
City to enhance present and future vehicle traffic movement in the
areas affected and the proposed amendments are consistent with the
existing and proposed land uses in said areas as the same are set
forth in the Land Use Element of the said General Plan; and
WHEREAS, it appears that there will be no significant
detrimental environmental impact from the proposed amendments and
that a. Negative Declaration of Environmental Impact should be
approved as prepared and posted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. The Planning Commission of the City of Bakersfield
hereby recommends to the City Council that it approve and adopt a
Negative Declaration of Environmental Impact as prepared and posted
regarding the proposed amendment to the Circulation Element of the
Bakersfield Metropolitan Area General Plan set forth below.
2. The said Planning Commission hereby further recom-
mends to the City-Council that it approve and.adopt the following
specific changes in the streets and highways portion of the Cir-
culation Element of the said General Plan:
'1.
Abandon Planz Road between Wilson Road
and Old River Road.
Realign White Lane west of Gosford Road,
northerly one-half mile to intersect with
Old River at the former intersection of
Fraser Road and Old River Road.
Realign Old River Road approximately 1200
feet westerly commencing one-quarter mile
north of Fraser Road and continuing to the
intersection of Stockdale Highway.
Realign Ming Avenue to the south line of
Sections 4, 5 and 6, Township 30 South,
Range 27 East, between Ashe Road and
Buena Vista Road.
Realign Wilson Road southerly'commencing
approximately one-quarter mile westerly
of Stine Road thence south to White Lane.
