A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
AUTHORIZING THE CITY STAFF, IN'COOPERATION WITH THE
GOLDEN EMPIRE TRANSIT DISTRICT, TO FiLE THROUGH THE
KERN COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS, AN APPLICATION FOR FEDEtL~L
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FUNDING FOR A PLANNING
GRANT FOR AN INTERMODAL TRANSIT FACILITY WITH ASSOCIATED
PARKING. '
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield wishes to Cooperate with Golden
Empire Transit District in the improvement of public transit service to the
Bakersfield downtown area, and
WHEREAS, the development of a downtown bus terminal with its
associated parking facilities, serving the existing downtown area and the
new downtown shopping center, and
WHEREAS, Federal Funding for assistance in the planning and
capitalization of such facilities may be available through the Federal
Department of Transportation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
The City staff is hereby authorized to cooperate with the Golden
Empire Transit District staff in submitting through the Kern Council of
Governments an application for a planning grant for the subject transit
related facilities.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 30th day of May, 1979, by the following
vote:
