A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD APPROVING NEGATIVE DECLARATION
AND AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE
BAKERSFIELD METROPOLITAN AREA GENERAL PLAN.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Bakersfield held and conducted a public hearing on April 18, 1979,
and notice of the time and place of such hearing was duly given
in the time and manner specified in Section 65351 of the Govern-
ment Code and the Planning Commission's report was completed and
transmitted to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held and conducted a public
hearing in accordance with the provisions of Sections 65351 and
65355 of the Government Code, on May 16, 1979; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the public
interest to change and amend the Land Use Element of the said General
Plan by changing the map of the Land Use Plan as shown by the map
attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the Land Use Element of the Bakersfield
Metropolitan Area General Plan is hereby amended by changing the
Land Use Plan in the manner shown on the diagram attached hereto
as Exhibit "A" (Segment IV) and made a part hereof, to wit: by
changing the subject property from low-density residential to
offices on 2.5 acres of land on the east side of Olive Street
between Palm and Dracena Streets.
2. That the Planning Director is directed to change the
Land Use Plan in accordance with said Exhibit "A" to show the
change effective as of May 16, 1979.
3. That the said amendment to the Land Use Element will
not have a significant effect on the environment· .The proposed
Negative Declaration of environmental impact is..hereby approved.
4. That the Clerk of the Council shall endorse in writing
on said amendment (Exhibit "A''~) to show that it was adopted by the
City Council on May'16, 1979.
5. That the Clerk of this Council shall forthwith
transmit copies' of this Resolution to the Planning Commission of
Kern County and the Kern CountylLocal Agency Formation Commission.

meeting thereof held on the 16th day of May, 1979, by the following
