A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD DECLARING THAT A MAJORITY PROTEST
HAS BEEN ~,~DE TO THE ANNEXATION OF PACHECO
NO. 9, PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AND TERMINATING SAID ANNEXATION
PROCEEDINGS.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Government Code of the State
of California, Sections 34300 and following, proceedings have
been instituted for the annexation of certain' territory designated
as Annexation No. 276, PACHECO NO. 9; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to such proceedings a petition was
signed and filed for such annexation, a resolution adopted describ-
ing boundaries of the territory sought to be annexed, publications
.had on said resolution and a time adopted for hearing of protests
from persons owning real property in said territory; and
WHEREAS, a hearing was duly held in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall in the City of Bakersfield on the llth day of
April, 1979, at the. hour of 8 P. M. pursuant to notices given in
compliance with law; and
WHEREAS, Wednesday, April 11, 1979, at the hour of
8 P. M. was the time set for hearing protests by any person owning
property within the aforesaid territory.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
That at the time set for hearing protests to the pro-
posed annexation and at the time to which said hearing was held,
a majority protest has been made by private owners equal to more
than one-half of the value of said territory as shown by the last-
equalized assessment roll, said property being designated as
Annexation No. 276, PACHECO NO. 9, and more particularly described
in Resolution No. 21-79 of the City of Bakersfield. Therefore, the
said proceedings are hereby ordered terminated.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 9th day of May, 1979, by the following
vote:
