A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ACCEPTING ART COLLECTION FROM
MARY CHURCHMORE BULT~'LAN OF BALBOA OF THE
CANAL ~ONE, AND AUTHORIZING THE'~YOR TO
EXECUTE A POWER OF ATTORNEY.
W~E~EAS, Mary Churchmore Bultman has offered as a gift
to the City of Bakersfield an art collection, the contents of
which are described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated
herein; and
WHEREAS, under the authority of the California Government
· Code, Section 37334, the City may acce~t~such gift; and
WHEREAS,I the said collection may be stored and displayed
at the Cunningham Art Gallery or as the City deems proper; and
WHEREAS, the said collection is currently in the possession
of the United States Customs Service at Los Angeles Harbor awaiting
acceptance by the City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the City of Bakersfield hereby accepts the art
collection from Mary Churchmore Bultman, the contents of which
are described in Exhibit A;
2. That said collection will be stored and displayed
at the Cunningham Art Gallery for public viewing;
3. That said collection will not be sold or disposed
of contrary to law; and
4. That the Mayor of the City of Bakersfield is authorized
to execute a power of attorney to American Customs Brokers Co.,
to transact the business necessary to have the said collection
_forwarded to the City of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 18th day of April, 1979,.by the following
vote:
