HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 31-79RESOLUTION NO."' 31-79~ A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD SUPPORTING OBSERVANCE OF MAY 3, 1979, AS THE SECOND ANNUAL SUN DAY. WHEREAS, Solar energy is a renewable resource, unlike oil, natural gas, or coal, Solar energy will always be available; and WHEREAS, using solar energy creates jobs; and WHEREAS, Solar energy promotes national energy self- reliance, as well as individual self-reliance; and WHEREAS, May 3, 1978, was the first annual celebration of the Solar Age, celebrated in all 50 of the United Ststes and in 31 other Nations, held to educate us about the potential of solar energy in meeting our energy needs.
