A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD SUPPORTING THE KERN COUNTY BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS IN THEIR PETITION TO THE CIVIL
AERONAUTICS BOARD AND THE PUBLIC UTILITIES
COMMISSION FOR CONSIDERING AIRLINE SERVICE
INTO THE BAKERSFIELD METROPOLITAN AREA.
WHEREAS, United Airlines has announced its intention to
withdraw from service the present flights from Bakersfield to San
Francisco;and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Kern
has filed or will file with the Civil Aeronautics Board of the
United States the objection to the withdrawal of service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield its full support and approval of the action taken by
the Board of Supervisors.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the ~oregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 21st day of February~ 1979, by the
following vote:
