A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF
A PORTION OF MANOR STREET LOCATED AT
THE NORT}~EST CORNER OF WEST COLUMBUS
STREET AND UNION AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 10th day of January, 1979, the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the
"Street Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9, Part 3, of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,.passed and
adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 940 declaring its intention
to order the vacation of a portion of Manor Street located at the
northwest corner of West Columbus Street and Union Avenue, in the
City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California; and
WHEREAS,-said Council did fix a time and place for
hearing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed
vacation which said hearing was held on the 31st day of January,
1979, after notices were duly posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That a portion of Manor Street located at the northwest

A parcel of land situate in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California, being a portion of Section 18, Township 29 South, Range
28 East· M.D.M., more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the southeast corner of said Section 18, said corner being the
intersection of the centerlines of West Columbus Street and Union Avenue;
thence S 0° 13' 15" W, a distance of 28.15 feet; thence N 89° 45' W, a distance
of 57.75 feet;. thence N 34° 53' 52" W., a distance of 72.79 feet; thence
N 24e 48' 04" W, a distance of 12.14 feet to the north right of way line of
said West Columbus Street of 90 feet in width, and the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING;

thence continuing. N 24~ 48' 04" W, a distance of 187.86 feet; thence
N 85e' 17' 09" E, a distance of 88.58 feet; thence S 32° 27' 37" E, a distance
of 28.43 feet; thence S 22° 51' 21" E, a distance of 25.02 feet; thence
S 14° 01' 51" E, a distance of 25.12 feet; thence S 5° 55' 14" E, a distance
of 25.00 feet to a point in the west right of way line of Union Avenue, of
115.5 feet in width; thence along said right of way line, S 0~ 49' 54" E, a
distance of 61.93 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the
northwest having a radius of 20 feet; thence southwesterly along said curve-
through a central angle of 89~ 25' 06", an arc length of 31.21 feet to a point
in the north'right of way. line of said West Columbus Street; thence N 89° 45' W,
a distance of 23.94 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
RESERVING THEREFROM all vehicular rights of ingress and egress from the above
described parcel to the Manor Street Ramp, said Union Avenue and said West
Columbus Street so that the owners of said parcel abutting said street and
avenue will have no right of vehicular access whatever in said street and
avenue as such except the general easements of travel which belong to the
whole public; and also reserving therefrom the south 30 feet and east 30 feet
of said parcel as a restricted setback area. All improvements within the
setback area shall have a 2-foot maximum height restriction.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 31st day of January, 1979, by the
following vote:
